I'm also having a day of girl mode. So, the first cake I've baked when I've been dressed authentically 👇. Wish it could be every day.
I've been baking. My partner hasn't eaten her bananas again. This is a #GlutenFree Coffee, Walnut and Banana Tray Bake. Recipe is 👇 www.glutenfreealchemist.com/banana-coffe...
I've been baking again. This time, a Sultana cake recipe that I adapted for #GlutenFree. All I did was I swap the plain flour for a gluten-free blend (1:1) and 1/2 tbs of Xanthan gum. Otherwise as in the recipe below. savorysweetempire.com/old-fashione...
This popped up on my Tumblr feed recently. It got me thinking. I'm not the same person I was in 2019 when I came to the realisation that I might be trans. It took another year to settle on a plan to be able to express my gender.
I made this tonight. Lean Bean Aubergine Tagine - totally #GlutenFree and veggie. Recipe below from Becky Excel. I only used 2/3 of the spices and one Aubergine, and it produced two meals tonight and two more for another time in the freezer. www.instagram.com/reel/DY5B802...
Without the belt, it is quite volumous and billows when I sit down, which is why I tried the belt as it controls it a little. This is what it looks like without the belt.
Another pic of my new maxi skirt styled as an off shoulder dress, with a belt gathering it in at the waist. I think this works, especially for summer wear. I think I need a lighter weight strapless bra, which I hopefully have coming tomorrow. Is this my outfit for counselling this week?
One ##GlutenFree Banana Cake and three muffins with the leftover batter. It's getting to the point where I can bake this cake without the recipe card.
May be worth reading this post from Instagram on the history of gender fluidity and the existence of trans identities going back 100s of years before western colonialism. We have always existed. www.instagram.com/p/DaSFcOjEtN...
Another outfit from the same shopping basket. The skirt is nearer the length I'm generally comfortable with. I'm keeping both items.
This is the alternative with the skirt hitched up above my navel. The top is also new and is a departure for me from my usual t-shirt style tops.
I originally bought this as a maxi skirt, but it proved to be too long unless i hitched it up quite high and wore heels. I'm thinking about wearing it as a loose off shoulder dress. What do we think?
We only have two Rhubarb plants, but they are producing a glut of Rhubarb. It's time to make some Rhubarb Crumble bars. The recipe was lifted from Instagram and the flour replaced 1-1 with a #GlutenFree blend. We already had the Rhubarb cooked, so I used that. www.instagram.com/reel/DY_nLEO...
This is the other angle. I didn't have time to post it before my counselling session started. I'm much more settled in my counselling sessions when I'm dressed feminine, or should I say dressed authentically. I just wish I could dress like this all the time. One day, maybe 😘.
I baked a #glutenfree cake for my wedding anniversary tomorrow. It's a rainbow cake with (very) pink frosting, although it looks more orange in the photo. I was intending to frost it with trans flag colours but decided against it as I was running low on buttercream.
Another loaf of #GlutenFree bread baked in my breadmaker. It still looks a bit wonky following my latest recipe revisions, but it looks OK when I cut it earlier. I'll try it tomorrow. I'm baking to eat. Everything I bake is eaten.
Another US organisation trying to influence the UK. UK media is definitely broken, but IMO the solution is not to import a US media company that is centred on profit.
I've been baking #GlutenFree bread again. I'm trying to convert an oven baked recipe to be baked in the breadmaker. I slightly increased the water content, and it has risen more evenly. However, it might be a little too moist and I may need to adjust it a bit more. Totally edible, so a success.
Experiment 2 with the #GlutenFree oven baked bread recipe I'm trying to convert to bake in my breadmaker. It's still a bit wonky. I'm going to try increasing the hydration in the next experiment, probably at the weekend. In this one, I reduced the psyllium husk by 25%.
When my partner doesn't eat her bananas, and now they are too ripe to eat, it's time to make #GlutenFree banana cake. This is one of my regular bakes. I had some batter left over, so I made a half dozen cupcakes. By the time I photographed it, only 2 remained.
I've baked #GlutenFree bread again using the same oven baked recipe as last week, but this time in the breadmaker. It's a bit lopsided as it gathered over one side of the pan, but at least it looks like bread. I'll find out later what it tastes like. 🥰 🍞
I baked #GlutenFree bread again today. It looks a bit rustic, but it is delicious. It is a very sticky dough and not that easy to handle, but worth it. The recipe is at this link. theloopywhisk.com/2024/08/24/e...
I've been experimenting with transfer tattoos to cover surgical scars, especially the one from my pacemaker implantation that is still visible a year later despite treatment. My counsellor thought it was a good idea and it opens up more tops for me to wear.
OMG, I think I'm having a hyperglycemic episode. But it was delicious. 😁😁
The finished article. I decided to go for a full top of mini eggs and a chocolate crumb coat on the side. It's going to be interesting cutting around all the mini eggs.
I've baked the cakes that will form the layers of my #GlutenFree mocha cake. Yes, I managed to put a thumbprint on one of them when I took it out of the tin. No one will notice once I've decorated it tomorrow.
