The Sickly Wizard (Commisions Available)
@thesicklywizard
Hello, I am The Sickly Wizard. I am a 3d artist experienced in Blender with quite a few years of experience under my belt. #lowpoly #blender3d #characterart #b3d #animation
Man, they really got his turtle ass in the hospital like this just to stay in power a little bit longer to fuck everyone huh?
Here's a bit of a snippet of how its going with my new video. currently roughing out the poses and gestures. I think the lipsyncing looks pretty great. Im quite satisfied with how smooth it looks so far. Also, jumpscare warning. #wip #b3d #animation
I got all the adornments all weighted and stuff. The jiggle physics for the sash and pendant were not wanting to co-operate and I was not feeling the desire to hand animate it. But its all looking and working really good.
A long while back I had commissioned @razzak0.bsky.social to do some texturing and clothing modeling for a character model. Its a long time over due, but shout out to him and his work! He is very talented.
Howdy, I haven't posted in a little bit, but I've been working on my new character rig.
This is only the first step of the process, currently I'm trying to procedurally generate the deformation layer of the rig, and from there constrain them to a stretch and tweak bone layer, then a mechanical layer where i can start to implement FK and IK structures and more mechanical stuff.
I'm making a good amount of progress learning and understanding the rigging nodes set up. I set up a way to construct bone chains based from a metarig. The default way of connecting bones together is really tedious and I wanted a way to make them faster, and more procedurally.
I really liked this character reference sheet and have been working on getting a sculpt and model of him going. Hes got a lot of personality.
I have a question to character riggers out there: What kind of naming convention do you utilize for bone structures like this? Obviously you'd probably want to name by what they control, like UpperEyeLid or Nostril.L, but how do you distinguish bones in that group? Do you just number them, or what?
So, the 2d animation is taking forever, like one drawn frame a day, and as charming as i think it looks Im thinking Im going to try and work on a more hybrid approach. My idea to expedite the process is to use a simple rigged 3d base with a grease pencil line art layer for more simple scenes.
man i really fuckin' did it to myself deciding I was gonna fucking draw for my newest video. I always pick the most labor intensive thing possible.
I found a very cheat way to animate smoke with grease pencil. Looks pretty good to me at least.
I had a vision and I wanted to see it fulfilled
I just found out youtube paywalled the fucking playback speed feature. I could of sworn you used to be able to do 4x speed.
Some mere ponderings. #Blender3d #GreasePencil #wip
Im doing a lot of grease pencil work recently in blender. 2d art is probably my weakest skillset, so I'm trying to implement it into my next video project. It's going to take a while.
Im also going to be trying my hand at rudimentary 2d animations. I want to get better at drawing and I struggle trying to get something that feels right. So thats gonna be another layer of work onto the project, but thematically it should be a good addition.
Been working on my next video. Here's just a very short snippet to get an idea of the kind of tone I'm gonna be setting.
One last sculpt for a while. I've spent the past 3 months doing likeness sculptures. This final one is a self portrait.
Disney shows up in the Epstein Files 1201 times, just sayin'
"Can I offer you an egg in these trying times?"
Here's a follow up to my sculpt yesterday with some painted shading and hair.
Here's a wip, I wanted to challenge myself with something more stylized and incorporate some painting. Ill be working on the tones some more and add hair probably tomorrow.
Here's a sculpt practice of Planes Of The Head by John Asaro. This took 3 and a half hours. Honestly, I don't know how helpful this was as an exercise anatomy wise. Flattening shapes with blender's sculpt tools are a nightmare, let me tell you.
