A somewhat threadbare downtown park is full of black metal sculptures. They are canine-shaped with long ears and indistinct features. They reached just above my knees.

A triceratops skull rests on a pile of red rocks. Looks like it could be made out of plaster or maybe plastic? It's easily 5 feet tall with the horns, it's twice the height of the porch behind it and takes up the entire front lawn.

I don't believe I've ever had the opportunity to introduce you to Phil He's a tin lizzy.

The scruffy old man in question.

A slightly scruffy and very spoiled long-haired grey tuxedo cat sits on a black leather couch. There is a knitted throw in pink/blue/grey stripes under him because he leaves a trail of cat hair everywhere he goes. You can see the claw damage on the base of the couch because he is a monster. He wants to know why you aren't petting him right this very minute.

I'm visiting friends in a couple of weeks and there is a covid spike going on. I was hoping the new vaccine would be available before I go, but no such luck. I debated getting boosted with the last one, but it looks like that's not an option either. So pack some Profi and cross my fingers I guess.
