Havin'a rough time of it of late, so leaning into an old comforting vice. Thinkin'bout Mecha. #HeavyGear Robits, to be precise. Also Tanks, cus Tanks in a setting like HG, which is in turn heavily inspried by the Anime #ArmoredTRooperVOTOMS, are still pretty damn scary, Unlike most Mecha settings.
Ah yes, the hyper-competent imposter sydrome. Tell that voice to fuck right-the-hell off.
It's a good term, sadly oft misunderstood & misused.
Dawn of the Tiberium Age; less a mod and more a total conversion, putting C&C TD & RA on the C&C:TS engine, while also tweaking things to add more features. It has its faults, but DTA is argubly the best way to play the classics out there today, despite the solid remasters. Highly recommended!
I’m an eternal pedestrian. I do not own a car & likely won’t ever be able to. Public transport for local trips is the only option, besides “shank’s pony”. Longer distance is rail or when more economical Coach. Does public transport have its downsides? Yes 100% But it’s also VERY G.D. necessary.
They're good copies to boot! Picked my own set + Endless Waltz up last year. Grab the Endless Waltz Blu-Ray as well if you can! It has both the film & OVA Cut's! Gundam Fans have been eatin' good under this licensor. I'm just sad they seem to have had very *time limited* licenses.
Has to be an ilClan era Doom Strider. Quads are just fun conceptually in BT, even if they're not great mechanically (learning the DEEP LORE behind why they've ended up as they are is WILD) & the DS at least feels much more *Viable* as a Quad than most. Largely thanks to its weapons package.
FINALLY got a good copy of Armored Trooper VOTOMS; with subs that don't go out of sync within 30 seconds! Yeah, this is that GOOD mecha shit. *I have been missing OUT*.
goddamn; get that woman a Phoenix Decal *indeed*.
No Star Wars/Trek/Gate. Name your favourite sci-fi franchise! Not that those 3 aren't up there for me personally, but to pick *just* 1 favourite tho? Now that's Impossible! So have 4: - Transformers (any/all of it!) - Starcraft - Babylon 5 - Space Battleship Yamato (Particularly the 2199 reboot!)
Okay; it's time. One last ride, before the dying of the light #Destiny2 Guardians. Make your voices heard; Slam those Servers. Send a Clear & simple message: We're here. We're energised & ready for more Destiny content. Either recommit to D2 support or Start on #Destiny3. It's #serverSlam time.
Final Hours before the last #Destiny2 update. Much as a I dipped around VoG & it's been off my radar since Final Shape; D2 is absolutely "one of my games of all time". Real shame, its ended the way it has; esp considering some Companies are now starting to look BACK at updating older titles.
Oh, OH. OH GOD. OKAY! You weren't referring to a lighting method, good goddamn. Jeysus.
NGL, PGI using this to do a Backdoor "Battletech the TV Show Season 2" Pilot was not what I think *anyone* had on the cards for this DLC. But damn if it doesn't have my attention.
Did yard work today, despite 25c+ temps & not a cloud in the sky. It's not the heat tho, its holding a drill for an hour or more while pressing it against the fence. Wrist_Wrecker_9K be dammed; I am braced up the 9's & my arms are burning. May have pushed it *a bit* too far.
Realising at 3AM that the weapon stat formatting/layout for my #40k2eXR working doc was kinda *borked*, necessitating a redesign. Only to learn that I'll have to refactor, *not just* the ENTIRE Wargear book, but the ENTIRE G.D. 100+ PAGE document... *Pain* #Warhammer40k2ndEd #warhammer #40k2e #40k
I Too have Doggo photos, Of Mine & @hobbytan.bsky.social's Rescues:
CURVY-ROUNDED PLASMA GUN! LETS FUCKIN' GO! I don't *hate* the more modern 'box with rounded corners', but I miss kinda RTB/Early 3rd stylings. Even 30k has moved away from it more or less since it went plastic.
To put this into context for folks who ever played in the "bad ol'days" before 8th (as I know there's plenty of you folks these days!). Imagine trying to play 10th Ed #40k, with the 8th Ed #Orks Codex. It would *mostly* work right, but your points values'd be borked & your rules interactions V-wonky
This is not a "Modern 40k gets a full suite of codex's every edition" thing. I've memories of playing a regular who was a big Blood Angels fan & them struggling with nothing until the White Dwarf Codex update. But this isn't a sub-faction, it's friggin' ORKS; missed technically 2.5 Rules Editions!
Fun lil'side effect of working on #40k2eXR, is stumbling onto things I genuinely never knew abt #warhammer 40k codex's. Example, ORKS. Staple of 40k since the beginning, right? Well, Between 4th & 7th they did not get a codex release. 6yrs, That is friggin' *wild* to me. #40k2e #Warhammer40k2ndEd
