Oh hey I'm on Wikipedia lol. That's cool. I'm not sure when Wikipedia got a page on trans literature, but I'm pretty sure it didn't exist two years ago. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transge...
I was going to write a nice review of Cate Fox and then I saw this:
I know everyone talks about and remembers the Tipping Point cover story, but the Time Magazine issue that defined my childhood was their 2017 "Beyond He or She" cover story. That was the one that made me look and think, oh, that's me.
Asking the question 'will a nude photoshoot sell a trans memoir to Hudson News customers' It's a bold strategy Cotton.
Feeling sick, time for some low brainpower reading with @lavernecox.bsky.social's new memoir. I found this in the airport lmao, it's giving Beyonce.
I think it's fair to say it's been a pain in the neck.
Anyway today's read is the revised edition of Transgender History by @susanstryker.bsky.social. I've read 2ed at least five times, and I got through two chapters at the library earlier. Not much I haven't already said about this book. Pineco seems like a good fit, couldn't explain to you why.
Or maybe it's not a perspective thing? Now I'm just confused.
Changing the font and typeface to keep the prose in third person limited, rather than using free indirect discourse, is an interesting stylistic choice. Not sure how I feel about it yet.
Alright girls time to hire some black hole guns 🪖 I know absolutely nothing about this debut from @isfriday.northsky.social other than it being my first ever @the-book-bazaar.com project - doubly excited to check it out! Thank you Friday for the ARC!
I've got a cold 🤧 so we're doing some low-key comics reading from @planetx.bsky.social! My exposure to comics is pretty limited. Mostly I would read my dad's old comics from the 70s and 80s (he was a DC fan). Legion of Super-Heroes is probably my fave, loved those when I was like ten.
"Dark things in East Asia" Girl what. I'm not getting paid enough to deal with this novella's relationship to race smh. Using slavery for cheap shock value with no depth or payoff.
Lol wait until she learns I found it on Amazon. That's the real horror story here.
Chat I regret to inform you that the primary driver of the horror here appears to be white guilt. With a side heaping of whatever this is.
If you're going for hetslop, you can't go wrong here lol
Mmm blood flavored whiskey, delicious. I gotta say, it's going for Southern Gothic but it's giving more Hallmark. Back in high school my family was really into Good Witch, this is reminding me of that lmao.
We can only aspire to work the corn and provide the hooch 😊
Get a hot load of this sexy, sexy small print front matter copyright disclaimer.
Anyway because my research skills are unmatched, here's some actual AI-free bargain bin Kindle writing that I doubt anyone has heard of before. I miss reading these obscure novellas, let's give it a go 😙
Chat haven't I been so good chat. Don't you understand. Stare long into the void. It calls to me, Mark 🥺
Yeah bro when she said "eheefmmmmmfmfmfmmfkmmu" I really felt that.
"Trans breast as reterritorialized site of production" is going to live rent free in my head tonight lol.
