The Werewolf

Ehwoo, eh? Blissfully retired Software Janitor/Archeologist I drink coffee. I know things. I still tell machines stories.
Man, imposter syndrome/self-doubt is a bitch... 91% and I did it in 35 minutes.
In the spirit of full disclosure... The BC map gives a better sense of scale. Oddly, as bad as it is, 2026 isn't even the worst year (so far). 2023 was by quite a margin. What seems different is how fast these fires are spreading, which suggests much dryer conditions.
US Heathcare... Done by AI. Delivered by a company that competes with Ali Express. Has the worst labour practices in the world. And is based on upselling 24/7.
I think I'm getting the hang of LiDAR scanning... this is a portion of Simon Fraser University's Burnaby campus, by the W. A. C. Bennett library. 1. Colorised point cloud 2 & 3. Gaussian splat snapshots Still need to figure out ground and ceilings. And remember to bring spare battery. :)
Ok... seriously... I've LONG been a Fantastic Four fan and I love this comic so much because the FF are a genuine family (same with the LSH) - but also because these are some of the most literate, clever, nuanced, non-violent stories out there. This month's is clever AND has a trick. :)
BTW, this is the same company that put THIS POSTER/STANDEE in Best Buys in Canada... think about the message here...
To translate: We know we f*cked up Win 11 and now, just like we did with Win 8.1 after the Win 8 fiasco, we're moving to Win 11.1 (but calling it K2, like the mountain) and we're fixing a lot of stuff so in a year, maybe you'll like it and switch. Here's a cookie.
elcome to British politics... That's Count Binface, Andy Burnham (probably the next Prime Minister of the UK) and a candidate for "Protect British Wildlife" [L to R] in last month's byelection for Makerfield. :) (Photo from The Guardian)
Sooo.. my 3DMakerPro Raven LiDAR scanner has arrived! Still have a LOT to learn... but here's a sample point cloud. I need to try the two-steps/pause or spin method to build up denser point clouds.
I bring this up because for my birthday, I wanted to go somewhere fancy with a friend and I had the one lone vegetarian option - a rather watery pasta, and he had the steak and it literally looked like the picture below - because slapping a chunk of meat on a grill then on a plate so SO hard.
It's so sad - chefs are telling vegetarians and vegans and people with food allergies to not go to their restaurants because it's too hard to cook for them... [ Pan fried gnocci, mixed vegetables, an Impossible burger in chunks fried in tomato paste and sprinkled with cheese and mixed herbs.]
When translations just go wrong... The Chinese says "Butterfly Flower Brand Spicy Broad Bean Series"
I bought a 3DMakerPro Raven LiDAR scanner and it should be here in the next few weeks... then I'm going to Universal and Disney World. Guess what I'm taking with me. I wonder if I can make it look like Thor's Hammer. :)
Ok, I still haven't found the original reference, but I found a similar one in "Were-wolf and Vampire in Romania" by Harry A. Senn. There are also references in other books to werewolves being agents of St. Peter to punish sinners.
Went for a quick flight in the fog with my DJI Neo 2... I keep it in my shoulder sling bag JUST for moments like this. :)
We had a customer at the shop who was concerned with what was happening in the US... but made it clear he approves of ICE and deporting "illegal" immigrants. I tried to explain why the latter is a big cause of the problems in the US and even made progress while being civil. But... (Boss said yes)
Ok... I think humans have officially jumped the shark... this is a fake turntable that simulates playing a record by showing an image of it on a circular touchscreen (so you can move the record around...)
This may be the dictionary definition of "walking a fine line"... Sorry, but two wrongs do not make a right. Invading a foreign nation and kidnapping the head of its government, no matter how illegitimate they are, is an international crime. The US had no right to do this.
Whelp.. that's that. No way in the world am I spending CA$2700 on a hobby drone. Antigravity really DID “Apple Vision Pro” the hell out of this thing… including the price. Alas, the Avata 360 is too heavy, so its out too. www.bestbuy.com/product/anti...
Gah.. It's #werewolfwednesday and I have nothing to show... Fine... a real oldie... Done in Illustrator on a Mac of all things, using software I wrote to help people with motion limiting disabilities who use a switch rather than a mouse.
Ex-Prince Andrew was humiliated yesterday when he was stripped of all his royal titles for his alleged sexual antics and possible association with Jeffery Epstein and forced to live "like a commoner" in this unreasonably small, dingy home...
When your dog finally snaps... (Not my generated video - but I think it's clear that it IS a generated video, so I think it's safe enough)
