New Listen: Agalloch - Pale Folklore (9/10) i mean, it's fucking agalloch. while it doesn't quite reach the level of the mantle or ashes against the grain for me, she painted fire across the sky is a strong contender for the best song they've ever done. insane that they came out swinging this hard.
day 9: built out a bit more of the structure of the balcony (i'll make it look pretty later), and tried to salvage what i could of the roof. i guess i'm gonna grow trees there? honestly not very happy with this build, but it is measurable progress at least since most of its blocks are new.
day 8: spent most of today struggling with getting stairs to work properly all for the sake of a roof that, now that i'm looking at it, is extremely fucking ugly. sigh. also started work on a basement/hanging balcony that, without the ability to sneak in the game, is really fucking terrifying.
day 7: build progress started! found a hole above my base (actual hole not pictured because i forgot to get a screenshot of it), then built a basement and a basic brick structure as a starting point.
day 6: running out of time to get a build done, so i spent today making final preparations. smelting bricks, mostly, and setting up a rudimentary sugar cane and cactus farm. set up a whole sandy sugar cane farm before finding out YOU CAN'T PLANT THEM ON SAND IN THIS VERSION
day 5: made it back home. set up some more furnaces to get some bricks smelting, then spent the night unsuccessfully trying to find skeletons to shoot creepers to get a music disc.
day 4: after a very productive mining trip, decided it was time to head home, with the help of my newly-acquired redstone! also discovered the hard way that breaking a furnace with items in it does NOT drop the items so i lost half of my bricks 😭 so much for making a brick house
day 3: spent the day hunting for clay, then did some mining and found redstone and diamonds!
day 2: headed out west to try and generate some new terrain, and succeeded! found this cool bay that i might do something with later, then discovered the three major things i was looking for!
day 1: cows and chickens are in the game now! i'm making a good start on collecting some new items, although tragically stairs can't be recovered once you place them. i've decided to leave this house as it is and start a new build--something focused on the new additions. lots of redstone, i guess.
upgraded to the next major version of the game: alpha 1.1.0! as alpha progresses, i'm gonna make it my goal to try and explore all the new features and obtain as many of the new blocks as possible in the ten days i've allotted myself in each update.
read this and thought it meant like what kind of autism does he have
day 9: went adventuring to find some more caves, but only found some mushrooms to put in my basement and a group of four creepers (the most mobs i've seen in one place so far). killed three of them before the fourth one got me! also made a little lava tube but haven't been able to fill it up yet.
day 8: more mining, but still no diamonds. also, i may have gotten a bit lost down there. anyway, building progress! decided what to do with the balcony area, although it'd work much better if i had way more gold blocks.
day 7: made some more building progress today, but i can't show much of it, because i'm still down in the mines now that the sun's risen! my diamond pickaxe broke, so i decided it was time to restock and maybe grab some lava. all i have to show is unfortunate confirmation that creepers exist.
day 6: very productive. despite some unwelcome visitors, i was able to build out some more of the second floor and start carving out space for a balcony area. no idea what i'm gonna do with it yet, and it's gonna be hard to make work without fences, but we'll see how it goes.
day 5: building day mostly! made some progress on the second floor, built a well in the basement for infinite water source blocks, and made a little garden path to welcome people to my home :) (ignore how the grass hasn't fully grown in yet)
day 4: started work on the second floor. not sure what i'm doing yet but we'll see. trying out a little overhang. ran out of wool for the floor. looked for clay but it seems to not exist yet? also made a horrifying discovery: signs are MASSIVE
day 3: extremely basic house is going well. have some walls, a ladder down to the basement, and a shitty staircase. made the extremely upsetting discovery that if you break a double slab it only drops one slab meaning the other one just vanishes. looks like we have ladders, but no stairs.
day 2: decided to build a house over this round cave so i'd have a nice natural basement. laid down a basic foundation and then got attacked by a skeleton. no feeling quite like being jumpscared by an enemy you thought wasn't even in the goddamn game yet!
day 1: since we've officially entered survival mode (although no monsters yet, seemingly) i ventured into the caves to find resources. found my first diamonds! i wasn't even sure whether diamonds existed yet! exciting! and there were enough to make a pickaxe!
have now entered infdev. if you press "f" it now toggles silent hill mode.
i decided to try out some older versions of minecraft, before even i had started playing it. i fucked around on a couple of the earliest flatworld versions, but now that i've reached the point where there's actual terrain generation, i decided to build a shitty little house.
only like four people have told me how good i look today let's get those numbers up shall we
