9 parts dad. 7 parts product designer. 5 parts product manager. 3 parts UI developer. Some parts private.
The absolute lengths we'll go to to avoid admitting something we’ve known for 40 years: the open office layout was a productivity mistake.
We've all experienced this prioritization framework. 😅 #productmanagement
"A picture is worth a thousand words" is the excuse designers get when the written requirements are an unstructured brain dump. When people write like this, they're passing the responsibility of critical thinking to the reader. Writing is a superpower that doesn't get enough credit.
In 2022, I was in the top 1% of Pocket readers. This was a feat made possible by the app's free text-to-speech (TTS) feature. Pocket was the perfect companion to my podcast player.
This design system remains one of my proudest achievements. ~100 components, ~90 releases, 400k+ insertions over 2 years. Built from scratch, a11y out of the box, and with detailed documentation and release notes. But even with clear ROI, org buy-in is the hardest component to design.
What I must look like when my family walks in on me in the middle of a wall ball chest massage.
Pretty bummed about Pocket's shutdown. I was a top 1% Pocket reader in 2022 thanks to its Listen feature. Despite it being pretty buggy, I used it often enough to rival my podcast player. It goes to show that when a product nails the JTBD, users will tolerate a lot.
In the grand scheme of things, Montreal's city snow removal service is world-class. But the private services however… oof. Every year I question whether or not the expense is worth it.
Just arrived in the mail, the cheeky packaging did not disappoint. This one’s jumping to the top of my reading list!
An accurate depiction of UX expectations and reality when Marketing, Sales, and Product aren't aligned.
My reaction when the missus asks if I've been sneaking milk to the neighborhood cat again when I've actually upgraded to kitty treats.

That feeling when the sales guy pops into the CEO's office with product ideas. #productmanagement #ux
What junior designers remind me of when they try to explain their work before they've wrapped their heads around all the stuff the didn't learn in their UX bootcamps. I appreciate the enthusiasm and wish them nothing but happy learnings.
Figured out how to add dark mode support on my website. #olddognewtricks
This is without a doubt my favourite Git commit message I've ever written.
My reaction after I've eaten a buttload of chicken wings. #montypython
My kid's ability to spill shit never failed to astonish. Thank God she grew out of this phase. #parenthood #oldtweets
I like it when UI components's proportions are relative to typographic line height. #uidesign
