Part of the government response is below. Thoughts on how fit for purpose the 'Energising Britain' report actually is? Think it's quite telling that we - as people who are very concerned with climate breakdown - have never heard of it.

We recognise we will only succeed if we take people with us and act together. That is why we are ensuring the public has a voice in how we create a more sustainable and more prosperous society. We published Energising Britain, the UK’s first public participation plan. This plan sets out how we will work to ensure people have the facts and understand the scale, pace of change and benefits of climate and nature action, and the benefits to their local communities. It includes working with businesses and communities to ensure everyone can benefit from our mission, including through policies that are responsive to people's needs and views.

This episode from Butterworth's wiki page should definitely also be a film. It makes me wonder whether they tried to be funny or not.

Butterworth was sent to Stalag Luft III near Sagan in Poland. It was there he met Talbot Rothwell, who later went on to write many of the Carry On films in which Butterworth was to star.[6] Having never performed in public before his imprisonment, Butterworth formed a duo with Rothwell and sang in the camp shows. They delivered a song which Rothwell called "The Letter Edged In Black". The performance was followed by some comic repartee which, according to Butterworth's account, provoked enough boos and hisses to have the desired effect of drowning out the sounds of an escape tunnel being dug by other prisoners.

Watched this last week - and very good it was too - but think it missed a trick by not mentioning Devonshire which had the shire very rudely ripped off in 1972. The only shire that was named after a people rather than a place? Wikipedia says....

The name Devon derives from the Dumnonii, which is the name of the Brythons who inhabited the southwestern peninsula of Britain at the time of the Roman conquest of Britain.
