I did an art piece this year called The Birth of Penis using an abalone shell, dried flowers, rocks & seashells, and a testicular implant leftover after an erectile implant and it feels like a lovely spiritual companion to the fantastic piece below!
This year has been crap so far. Lost two cats to age & illness, my mom's health is still declining, and I'm still dealing with drama from over a year ago that shouldn't have ever been an issue to begin with. I'm so tired. We live in such a hellscape. I just need a fucking short rest, universe. Plz.
Yesterday (Saturday) was a really difficult, trauma reigniting day and life has overall been kicking my ass. This one goes out to the people who seem to really enjoy making my life much harder.
We are having a bit of a time right now. Kyrie has been sick and we unfortunately will be having to put her down tomorrow. It's hard and we are sad. 16 and a half years.
If you don't wear a mask in crowds & enclosed spaces, you can kiss my ass. I was THE ONLY VISIBLE PERSON IN NEWARK AIRPORT wearing a mask last weekend. I didn't get COVID then. Two of my partners work in hospitals where they don't require (& discourage culturally) masks, tho, so fuck me I guess.
Artist! Quote with your dark art! I like working with very dark art but this is one of my favorite sets of companion pieces.
I'm 38 today. It could definitely be a better day, but we've got some big "it is what it is" going on here.
Said goodbye to our sweet old man, Siggy, after 18 years. I'm going to miss him a lot 🩵
Vanity Fair photos have me looking at the color grading and framing like 👀 ~*~scandalous~*~
Art project, mixed media, a gift for my partner using their testicular implant that was removed to be replaced by an erectile implant, an edible flower from one of our dinners out, two pieces of abalone shell from a special sushi dinner, and some decorations. Inspired by the birth of Venus.
Turn is definitely "what have you done to that bird? You fucked it up, you gave it anxiety!" (Art by Cecilia Ferri, layout by @johnwsheldon.bsky.social , text by Beau Jágr Sheldon aka Thoughty (me). thoughty.itch.io/turn)
Today I'm pretty laid up with pain and I wanted to draw but only had less than a half charge on my iPad battery and the pen is buggy, so I figured that was a good limiter. I used my fall prompts list I recently made and got pain, saturated pastels, and archaic as prompts and modifiers. Ta daa
Me, at ~2am, the night after my first immune infusion, the night before a week long trip in Maine, immediately cleaning up a mess left when the hot handle on our second floor sink faucet popped off snd geysered all over the bathroom, including multiple litterboxes. If curses exist, I've got one.
Trying to be a human, failing. I don't feel safe being myself in public these days, even if I still try.
Maybe it should never have been up to the government or corporations what art should be made or shared or enjoyed or rewarded. Really hope I get to edit photos soon. Function needs to increase but I'm trying. In camera LCD: cormorant in flight at North Park Lake, from kayak.
I am genuinely proud of this freehand scratch art I made today. #nonbinaryMasc
I am trying very hard to keep going but when my little circle of the world feels like this, and I feel like I'm surrounded by hell because of our government and the cultures that support it, it's really hard some days.
The universe shuffled my Thoth tarot deck by spilling it all over my bed, so I drew three (past, present, future) and i honestly have never seen three wands come up reversed like this.
Selfies from the other day. Wondering how lumpy my head will be when I have to shave my head bc my hair is thinning so bad. I had hoped I could make it until 40 but even with hairline powder I'm almost as bald as my dad. :/
Art I did today inspired by a recent episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and the unattainable nature of peace and joy.
Showing the challenges of trying to fill my pill case with my tremors when they're a little above normal intensity, mostly for myself to have record.
I don't know what life will be like juggling all of this, on top of a life that seems dedicated to be filled with crises, in a world that doesnt seem to want people like me alive and is pretty determined to put us all down somehow, and no one being able to stop things from getting worse. I'm scared.
Cw cat skull #oddities #sculpture #skull I am pretty proud of my first completed oddities project! A cat skull recovered ethically on a farm, cleaned by me, with small painted clay fungus sculptures & a clay corpse hornet (as close as I could get). This is going to Carey but I hope to do more.
