I’m actually in the midst of painting a little raccoon eating watermelon - he still needs all his fur and so far the watermelon doesn’t have color for the rind or seeds, but it’s coming together and I hope spreads a little summertime joy.
I finally finished a pair of socks that were designed for the SuperSock Wild Championship. I’m not trying to be speedy, just finished with a pair here. I loved the design and thought instructions were clear with excellent video tutorials. My own brain had trouble with merging the different charts.
I have some peonies at the end of their blooms here and I just can’t get enough of them!
This is a baby sweater from the French Macaron pattern. It’s not actually as fast as others I have knit recently as I found the instructions confusing in parts. Ran out of yarn, so mixed in another gray for seaming. 🧶
I made another one. Oops, ignoring sockmadness and didn’t realize that latest patten has been out for five days. #Knit this one the last three. Buttons all match and it’s just a flash issue that the one looks blue. Yarn is not really so gray as it appears here and definitely a soft, pearly blue.
Woefully behind on my sock pair for sockmadness and needed larger needles for hand comfort currently. So what magic should appear? The #lightitupMAL. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good! I am making a basic baby sweater based on the Macaroon pattern (I’ll post designer later). Random yarn🧶
This is the fourth round of #sockmadness and I’m out of thr competition, but still #knitting and cheering for my teammates. This is an interesting design which has a section of double knitting amidst some colorwork. Big learning curve as I don’t often double knit, but no pressure; I got this. 🧶
So peaceful to observe a lantern festival. The community ambiance feels strong because the atmosphere has an abundance of hope.
So nice of your dad & boyfriend! 🍕🍻 When getting our new home and setting up in the first night, this quote inspired me and our dinner.
Socks are finished, but I’m not advancing. I do have to say my heart wasn’t in it so much for this pair. But I still will be cheering my team in #sockmadness 🧶 and I can add in more time for projects that are waiting - both #knitting ones and #crossstitch.
The first sock of my round 3 🧶#sockmadness competition. Interesting construction as it begins with the heel. Tubular bind off is nice for the design, but I don’t find it so comfortable. #knitsky #knitting #knit Hoping sock 2 is much quicker for me.
There are a couple more on Ravelry in addition to that one. Maybe consider tracing the area you need on paper and then knitting with decreases to cover that? Or knit from the narrow part up to wide section?
I finished my socks, earning the penultimate spot in my team. I’m moving on to the next round. That may be my finale as this group has a lot of fast knitters! 🧶 I love all the cables here & the hint of lace in the gusset (the triangle where the sock expands to get over one’s ankle). 💜 #sockmadness
I have finished the first sock of round two for #sockmadness and need to get the second one done before the deadline. This sock required less yardage than the last so I’m hopeful about finishing in time to qualify for advancing to the next round. #knitsky #knitting🧶
My completed #sockmadness socks for round one. I’m sore my family was really glad to have them finished too - well, except for the ends as each strand has one to two ends where it was inserted or finished off. After those are woven in, finally it will get a soak in water and blocking. 🧦
I’ve made some progress as the gusset is now completed for this one. Next will be the heel flap and it’s a rather short cuff so I look forward to finishing so I can cast on the second sock of the pair. 🧶 #sockmadness
These are my round one #sockmadness Quasar socks . Yarn management is the biggest issue with so many strands, but it’s lovely to #knit. I wanted to use sea glass colors and have placed the beads on in random order after stringing them on to superfloss. 🧶
With the calming scene described, I had to screenshot the whole page instead of giving you a single line. I hope everyone has a peaceful Wednesday.
For those who’ve had concussions or other brain injuries that affected you in the short or long term, I want to recognize all that you’ve been through & the path of healing you’ve experienced. Here’s to you, the patients, & to your providers & the many researchers trying to improve quality of life.💚
I finished this morning and was pleased to be notified that I qualified for a team this year. I’ve been in #sockmadness competitions since round 8. Slow but steady creates new #socks. I don’t care about winning so much as making new friend, learning new techniques and getting support in the SALs. 🧦
And a few more graphs, though this is not all they have to reveal for your reading habits.
Look, more #knit #sockmadness socks. These warmup socks were on the needles when the qualifying pattern was sent. Wanted to finish foot & the toe grafting before casting on the second of the qualifying pair. These were my socks on the go with some stitches here and there when I had waiting time.
I’m thrilled to have one sock completed for the current qualifying round of #aockmadness. 🧶
It’s #sockmadness 20; working on my qualifier for this speed knitting competition. One can actually be slow like me & make it through a few rounds or just cheer others on. Enjoying the sock so far - and was thrilled that the supplies I bagged to begin this were just right for the Newspaper pattern.
