Drop something toothy

I’d read this comic to see if there’s any information about them in it but it’s telling me not to…

The cover of Multiversity: Ultra Comics #1 by Grant Morrison, Doug Mahnke & David Baron (May 2015). It depicts a character in a superhero costume on fire, they are looking out directly at the reader with a look of shock, their left hand pointing towards the reader, their right pulled back as if they’re about to punch whatever they are looking at.

The typeface blurb reads:

This is what he’s so excited about, which as usual with this pair only raises more questions.

The cover to the 1967 Beano Summer Special. It is a beach scene, the tide is out as the end of the pier pictured is not in the sea. There are children building a sandcastle in the background, someone in a deck chair reading a paper, people in the sea and some sort of ferry boat on the horizon.

Biffo the Bear is diving headfirst off the pier onto what we can only assume is the beach itself rather than the sea, although Buster’s speech bubble “What on Earth is Biffo up to? See back page” implies that all is not as it seems, a common occurrence with this pair.

Biffo is wearing his usual red dungaree shorts, (although canonically he does have swimming trunks) his hands clasped together in front of him and his face is beaming joy, with rather rosey cheeks.

A close up of a pen & ink drawing by an unknown artist of the third Doctor (Jon Pertwe) from The Armada TV Quiz Book written by Peter Eldin, the artist is unknown, published in 1976.

This depiction of the Doctor during to the artist’s decisions it looks like he has a rather scraggly moustache that spans the whole width of Pertwee’s mouth. During his tenure as the wandering Timelord Pertwee never fielded such face furniture (or at least I’m not aware of any photographic evidence of such).

They’ll claim that their rapid growth means they make mistakes in vetting, but what is it about them that makes them attractive to so, so many fascists?

A post about a Nathaniel Menday, a fascist that was successful in the May 2026 local elections, winning a council seat in Sheffield standing for Reform. He is pictured wearing a suit and looking very Gammon-ey (I can use that insult because I too am really quite white) The post details his further social media posts with the Swastika and other Nazi iconography, including a photo he posted of Mein Kamf.

He has been suspended, I assume Reform will claim they didn’t know, a stance that only makes sense if they weren’t serious about vetting their candidates.

We seem to be cursed to live in not only interesting but really, really dumb times.

A tweet from Chuck Schumer on X, The Everything App who apparently is the leader of the Senate Democratic Caucus so you would have thought had better things to do but ho-hum.

It reads:

For decades, UFO disclosure has been a distant object — unidentified and unexplained. That's starting to change. I'll keep pushing until we land on the truth.

It is in response to a tweet from the New York Times, a self styled ‘newspaper’ that has really shown itself to be more concerned with cozying up to power than questioning it. Their missive reads

Breaking News: The Pentagon made public what it called "never-before-seen" files on UFOs. The initial images are murky and show what could be anything.

It’s a good example of The Doctor & someone else Dalek wrestling but not a patch on this still, which is my favorite example of the sport.

A black & white image of Dr. who (Peter Cushing) and Ian (Roy Castle) with a Dalek from the Dr. Who and the Daleks 1965 feature film directed by Gordon Flemyng.

It takes place in a corridor in the Dalek City on the planet Skaro. The Dalek is in the centre and somehow manages to look nonplussed (an impressive feat for the famously non human looking Mark 4 Travel Machines to pull off) with its eye stalk looking out at the viewer. On the right, arms around the Dalek’s Exterminator Gun, one foot on its bumper stands Ian in a suit & tie, facing the viewer whilst on the left is Dr. Who, right arm resting on the Dalek’s Sucker Arm, facing away the viewer, left leg extended backwards. The trio look like they are either wrestling or dancing.
