Always a pleasure to see and (hear!) these beauties as I arrive on campus. Clearly there's quite a lot to screech-about at breakfast time.
or gently point out that philosophy "is useful… for turning stupidity into something shameful"
The best weekends always seem to coincide with unexpected finds at second-hand bookshops 😊
cf. Annas' note on C19th accounts of consciousness as simping over (then new) technologies 🚂 "Our current models for the mind are based on computers, and these will doubtless sound as bizarre to our successors as the model of steam propulsion does to us”
...unfettered fun surely. (And quite unlike Leibniz's subjection of the syllogism to a calculus which, according to Hegel, is just "the same as calculating how many combinations of letters an alphabet allows, how many throws are possible in a game of dice, how many plays with an ombre card, etc"). 🫠

Was there a need to wear this t-shirt to campus open day today? Yes (it was modal). #àlamode
Something for the bedside table from the second-hand bookshop down the road. 📚 👹 #sweetdreams
There's no time to explain - hop on the two-stroke tandem! (Yes, even with the flat tyres and half-missing handlebar)
electronic versions are great, but hard copies are always a treat (even if they take a while longer to arrive). 📕 Either way (or both ways!) - ask your library to get a copy!

This one has been a great summer read. 🌞 ⛱️ Lucid and engaging (and somehow buoyed by the gravitas of its scholarship) - a thoroughgoing immersion in a long history, as well as some deft engagements with a range of more recent thinkers such as Luce Irigaray, Adriana Cavarero, and Brooke Holmes.
3km in cloudless gentle late afternoon sunshine today, it was glorious 🏊♂️
