Woodbridge Tide Mill Museum UK

Woodbridge Tide Mill Museum is a Grade I listed mill dating from 1170, that still mills flour. Restored, it is a popular, interactive museum where working machinery and milling bring history to life
It's Lammas Day folks, the autumn harvest festival celebrated on August 1st. It marks the peak of summer and the start of gathering grain (long gone this year). The day focuses, amongst other things, on baking bread. And what better flour to use than #woodbridgetidemill flour.
It's Lammas Day this Sat that usually marks the beginning of harvest. HOWEVER harvest in Suffolk began in late June - one of the earliest starts on record—driven by prolonged hot weather and dry spring conditions. #getbaking #woodbridgetidemillmuseum #LammasDay

With an M. C. Escher exhibition opening in London www.somersethouse.org.uk/whats-on/mc-..., I though AI's rendering of '#woodbridgetidemillmuseum in his style' a little disappointing. #itsallaboutstairs
Spotted by a Mill Volunteer at Christchurch Mansion recently. Mill and granary, old millpond to the right, the town ferry crossing the river and what looks like 3 windmills on St John’s Hill. Possibly Aug 3 1815 #woodbridgetidemillmuseum

Millers occasionally swam in mill ponds, but it was discouraged. While some mill ponds became lidos, swimming holes or marinas (like ours), working mill ponds were dangerous. They hold deep silt, submerged machinery, and dangerous underwater currents from sluices. #woodbridgetidemillmuseum
Good news - our heating is fixed! Do pop in for a roasty walk around our history, milling, engineering and renewable energy story. Unfortunately we can't stop the cool river breeze, and Deben views on the decking. #woodbridgetidemillmuseum #customerservice
