DoorDash needs to be better regulated everywhere. When you regularly get offers like this where the customer didn’t tip and the base pay is abysmal, you end up turning down more than half the orders to even end up making any money at all (that’s not even accounting for wear and tear on your car).
I’m aware Mayor Jones doesn’t have the same power as Mayor Mamdani but realistically this city is in need of property tax reform in order to reverse its decades long history of inequity. We can’t get something for nothing and asking the rich to pay for upkeep makes more sense than gutting services.
Much like my efforts to learn Blender by modeling a donut, that joke needs a little more work.
I don’t think they thought through the optics of scapegoating someone as quintessentially American as a literal Olympian for the botched job that John Cafaro’s company performed. This guy looks like a cartoon caricature of a crooked businessman and was found guilty of bribing a congressman in 2001.
A short anthology movie featuring the crerpy pasta around ‘The Hands Resist Him’ (assuming the rights aren’t an issue of course), and stories ‘The Portraits’ and ‘The Gallery of Henri Beauchamp’ could be fun if done well. I’m not the biggest fan of the trend but I think those 3 could work in film.

I want to remind people in red states across the U.S. that Hungary was able to oust Orban in spite of his dictatorial tendencies because they went out and voted against him. The moves to redistrict are counting on people becoming disenchanted and self-disenfranchising by staying home. Vote anyway
Sometimes when thrifting, you strike gold. I found a signed copy of Samurai! by Saburo Sakai. At the time of its publication it was the only first hand account from a Japanese WAII fighter pilot. I’m just getting into it but it’s an interesting read so far to say the least.

I want to take a minute to call out @ksatnews.bsky.social for their reporting. They stated the #NoKings march in San Antonio was “Mostly Peaceful” implying there was some level of violence. I was at the march there was no violence at all. Also they got me in a photo with a weird expression! 🥲
It looks like Dorothy ditched her Silver Slippers after she came back from Oz.
