In went a ridiculously over-specced C24 treated frame, posts either set in concrete 80cm deep, or bolted to the stone slabs with hefty brackets. Stringers were a bitch, never doing that again. Composite decking boards are an arse too, get ridiculously hot in the sun.
The before… lots of rotten wood with posts just sitting straight on the stone slabs 🤦🏼♂️
I finally finished rebuilding MiL’s raised decking today. Can’t say I planned for all the 30+°C temp working (in a south facing place sheltered from wind 🥵), but very satisfied with how it’s turned out. Will add some in-build pics to the next posts. Total material costs: £4,228
Buy a Smart ForTwo EQ. 100 miles range and it’s got a key that you turn to start it, buttons for the HVAC and CarPlay for your phone. We’ve done 30k miles in our two and they’re perfect for their role.
It’s a very nice green, though I also love the new purple they do. Looking at AT it seems a LOT of dealers ordered their demos in the lime green though 😂
New car day is always a good day! Out with the Cupra Born, in with the VW ID.3 GTX. 321bhp, RWD, 79kWh battery and 369 mile WLTP range. Looking forward to getting to know this and seeing how different it is! (hint: probably not very 😂)

Ooh very cool! The Autocar side images were the inspiration for the t-shirts I designed for PH many moons ago. These are a couple of them, did about 30 in total. The 911 sold in huge numbers, over 7000 IIRC.
They are available, doesn’t even seem that crazy when a Golf R is £50k…
I mean, if the problem is too many photos, in AT terms it’s not that bad. Not like this dealer, who manages to chop the bottom of the car off in EVERY. SINGLE. IMAGE 😡
