Not sure either. This is the first time I've given more than a passing thought to how materials work besides obvious stuff. Granted, when I draw characters with toys they're active ~25 years ago, so the options (in Sweden) are limited. But I guess Hobbex plastic too is okay when it's all you got.
Badger it is! Feel I haven't been delivering on drawing more varied body shapes recently. And having my mind sometimes stuck in the mid-90's, wedge-shaped miner with inexplicable Fabio hair and mojito seems just what the doctor ordered. From the sketchbook, coloured pencils. #furry #americanbadger
For some reason a lot of my genets tend to live around 2000 and be pretty horny.
For context, this is what a generic URW buggy looks like. ~250 kilos dry weight, podded 4w drive, low profile, high clearance. Plutonium radioelectric with compo-nusteel body. This is not a vehicle for commuting through cities designed around it. This is a vehicle for where there are no cities.
From the sketchbook, ink and mixed coloured pencils. ~5 cm. Drawn during downtime hours while staffing game jam. Interregnum era interstellar ark, ca 2950 CE (post-3000 CE calendar; actual old style Common Era date unknown). #MereAnimals #RiverForge #scifi #TTRPG
From the sketchbook, 2023. Coloured pencils. Sometimes when I can't sleep, I get up to draw just to get ideas I'm afraid I'll forget out of my system. Think it is overall a good habit - even if sometimes it produces genets with 8 toes instead of 10.
I heard it do be lesbian visibility day. Blast from the past way back from 2016. Gleam Volkins and Aita being intimate on the kitchen table. Looking back, feeling pretty astonished at the technical progress I made just between 2016-17, but still a personal favourite from that messy transition era.
Dinosaurs in the fog. Bitterns, GIMP 2, 2023. A lot more social or even tolerant than you ever see bitterns in reality, but wanted to stick as many of them as I could in one picture because bitterns are cool.
CW: Arachnophobia Megarachne, in the incorrect reconstruction as a spider. GIMP, painted during downtime while staffing game jam in 2023. I have a troubled relationship with spiders in that I both enjoy painting them and also suffer from intense reflexive arachnophobia >< We can't have everything.
For context, Torao Onigawara is the karate representative in the roster of Psikyo's Daraku Tenshi. A 47 yo chonk-but-stronk karateka who's obsessively spending his days practising knife hands and smashing rocks, and is implied not to have touched soap in 11 years.
Only drawn Loona a few times. Latest several years ago. Cosplaying as Sierra from Legend of Mana, because why not?
For the King! For the land! For the mountains! For the green valleys where dragons soar!
I've heard that today do be #PortfolioDay I'm a Swedish self-taught artist. Part time art instructor working with senior citizens, used to work in video game dev. Currently developing a TTRPG: Look for #MereAnimals
Thanks <3 There's regular ones too, designed to run in hab cylinders on large space stations, but the hot rods are privately run. The River Forge station streetcar network runs a slot system, so the track is used by community-owned services between the circulating commute and freight cars.
My "hot rod" space station streetcars actually existed o.o That's quite the surprise.
The ideas I started out with had feathered muzzles as I mostly draw mammals and dinosaur feathers are closer to fur than modern bird feathers, but after relocating BeastCub's Deinonychus suit, a naked muzzle made more sense as close convergent evolution as many raptors have sparsely feathered faces.
Deinonychus, coloured pencil and acrylic on card. 13x18 cm. Gift for my parents. #paleoart
