On August 1, 2014, the March for Equality in support of LGBTQ city government employees took place in Chattanooga.
Today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday) are the two last opportunities for early voting in Tennessee. Election Day is August 6.

Pfc. Barry Winchell died on this day in 1999 after being brutally beaten by fellow soldiers. Stationed at Ft. Campbell, he came to Nashville where began a relationship with Calpernia Addams, a trans woman who performed at Connection.
