Today we celebrate one year since Scott Minton was officially exonerated after spending over 30 years behind bars. Convicted in 1994 based on a coerced confession and unreliable eyewitness identification, he had 18 alibi witnesses and receipts proving he was elsewhere.
Today marks four years since Joyce Watkins was fully exonerated after 27 years of wrongful incarceration. On January 12, 2022, all charges were dismissed against Joyce, affirming her innocence in the 1988 murder and sexual assault case that had upended her life.
