I write a lot about pop culture. Movies, television, and comics most often. Sometimes politics. I live-skeet SNL on Saturdays. Just a head’s up. I used to write and draw the web comic Theater Hopper, if that means anything to you.
Dude, you’re by yourself. What’s with the mound of chicken fingers and fries?
Study after Velazquez's portrait of Pope Innocent X by Francis Bacon. It’s in the collection of the Des Moines Art Center. I saw it as a child and it never left my mind.
Visual representation of Moby's cover of "That's When I Reach for My Revolver"
I think I might have just received the laziest phishing attempt in recorded history.
Remember when I was talking about what a shit show this was going to be yesterday? That was before they announced the line up for this "state fair" thing earlier this afternoon.
Just wanted to share some photos of a 72" x 36" trestle table that I built with mortise and tenon joinery (no hardware!) I'm really pleased with how it turned out. ☺️
I saw a video about how to turn your Gmail profile picture into a GIF. So I animated on for my small business with the hopes that it will make my emails stand out more.
The table I posted about yesterday is done. I wish I had a better picture of it, but here you go
Incidentally, when Nicole Kidman shows up in the middle of the movie for no reason... that's kind of crazy, right?
I think most people know that Giger's original design for the xenomorph from Alien involved the integrated top half of a human skull. I had a thought. What if there were still eyes in the skull? Lifeless, pointing in different directions, but faintly visible behind the dome of the head?
I was thinking recently about how Insomniac's Spider-Man is probably one of the more successful costume redesigns because they leaned into the idea of it being athletic wear. The Marvel Rivals design is somewhat similarly inspired and I don't hate it.
Don’t even get me started on this vintage Brooklyn Dodger hat. Too many B’s!
I kind of want it because B = Brazelton and that’s evergreen. But I also bought the LAST Orioles hat from three years ago for the same reason. New hat is better though.
I think I mentioned I'm seeing an Orioles game in July. They just released their City Connect had design and I am seriously considering it. I don't even have strong opinions about the Orioles.
Forge from the X-Men has the mutant ability to immediately understand and build technology. So why doesn't Reed Richards and Tony Stark invite him to the group chat? Forge should be on the Mt. Rushmore of Marvel's big brains, but everyone treats him like an afterthought.
Still one of my better purchases from the NBC Store last time I was in NYC.
I recently rounded the corners and knocked down the edges on it a little bit.
I share it on other places, but I realized I don’t share my woodworking much on BlueSky. This is a jig and a lattice trivet I built recently.
Remember in Mallrats when Brodie was carrying around a bent up Dixie cup everywhere?
Ryan Gosling dressed up the Godfather’s Pizza guy in the monologue. #SNL
