Checked in on my longest living house plants yesterday. Happy the hydrangeas are blooming at least! I’m plant challenged. Been using an app that reminds me to water and feed them and prompts for check-in notes every once in awhile.
Looking up Anunoby’s pay and Noticed that the Knicks have only 1 player in the top 25 salaries this year. Spurs have none yet but what are those other teams doing? From @basketball-reference.com www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/pl...
Microsoft AI promotes Responsible AI in training new 1st party models. Shows some respect for the rights of publishers. I hope the full list of training sources might be published despite the last sentence of the following note from the technical paper on MAI-Thinking-1 microsoft.ai/pdf/mai-thin...
Sorry @atmo.quest I like the idea. However, your app wants to manage my whole Bluesky account. Even knowing you have good intentions, that’s too big a risk. I would sign in if I could choose more limited access. @graham.systems and I discussed a similar issue with @stream.place earlier today.
Loving the stick figure drawings in this talk! Missed the Facebook Island one but the theme was that it’s really hard to leave Facebook, by design using human connections as a kind of blackmail “leave and I’ll take away your connections!”
Amateur stick figure artist @brittanyellich.com now presenting @cascadiajs.com about @atproto.com 1 week into her new role at @bsky.app after some time at @github.com and a presentation at @atmosphereconf.org earlier this year. Representing @pdx.atproto.camp with others who took the train here
Learning how to make bad language models from @mollyjeanbennett.bsky.social at @cascadiajs.com Leading with humor. Great audience response!
Alex Hinson adds AI suggestions to his Strudel code with a small, local AI model. Make music through code quickly and privately. #CascadiaJS
Filip Sodić starts with designing types well. Then the engineering becomes straightforward. Typescript provides the type system to compress what’s in your head to types before code and docs. #CascadiaJS
Francesco Ciulla, an expert on Rust, tells the JavaScript crowd that Rust matters when web becomes infrastructure, where predictability matters. #CascadiaJS day 2 morning keynote number 1
I’d like to know the story behind the mushroom and flower illustrations at @cascadiajs.com They’re nicely done! Day 2 opening keynotes about to start.
Had a nice chat with Willam from @expo.dev during the break from talks at #CascadiaJS. They help mobile app developers update apps without requiring updates through the App Store The cofounder of Expo will talk about a way to structure markdown instructions for agents later today.
CascadiaJS session two. Love that the third speaker of the day @jdsteinbach.com shared his @bsky.app handle on his speaker profile. Also, James wore shoes that match his topic, CSS colors. Love the red All Stars. I used to play basketball in black canvas Chuck Taylors when I was a kid.
Second keynote presentation at @cascadiajs.com is from Joel Hooks who believes swarms of agents are awesome. cascadiajs.com/2026/talks/a... He uses pi.dev as his agentic harness. Described it as yolo-mode at the core with no support for MCP. Joel dislikes Obsidian, likes MDX for markdown +pi-notes
Matt Billman CEO of @netlify.com kicking off CascadiaJS with the first keynote. He says taking Waymos around San Francisco and driving his Rivian makes him think differently about the future. Copilot in the IDE followed self-driving car experiments. Claude Code provides “universal hands-free” too.
I’ve got a front row seat for the first keynote at @cascadiajs.com web and AI conference at @townhallseattle.bsky.social First local, in-person conference I’ve attended where I’m not a speaker in many years, maybe more than a decade. Looking forward to something different!
Just learned that Ryan Roslansky, CEO of LinkedIn was training to be a pro tennis player when he dropped out of college to run a startup in the 90s #MicrosoftLife #OutsideIn
Wemby makes Clingan look small at the tip. Very physical game so far. Nice to see Carter Bryant shooting confidently from 3. Go Spurs Go!
Surprised by a few things that were different from MCP installs I've done in the past. * Install starts in Claude Code with the /plugin command * Sign in through /plugin, too * The install provides options to install just for you or for everyone in your repo
Love this clip of @pdstafford.bsky.social on the place AI skills rank in recent content design job postings. Puts things in perspective, for the short-term prospects without AI skills, at least. Here's the link to the post ademolaadepoju.substack.com/p/what-do-co... #ContentDesign
Glassy water on lake Washington today. after early snow there’s a little sun ☀️
Just finished dredge. Amazing indie game! Lots of credits even for this show how big a production games are. Loved the unique story, visuals, and orchestral music in this one. #GameSky
A little snow in Kirkland, Washington this morning. Will be gone in a couple hours. Stay safe morning commuters! @seattletimes-rss.bsky.social reports that interstate 90 was closed at 7am at Snoqualmie pass
