Grogu sculpting timelapse💚 I’m currently enjoying The Book of Boba Fett, and I can’t wait to see Grogu and his dad again
Continuation from my previous timelapse video. Another important lesson I've learned over the years is to hold off on the details. That applies to both painting and sculpting. You'll notice that I don't subdivide my mesh until later in the process🐢 #digitalsculpting #timelapse #zbrush
My ZBrush muscle memory is slowly coming back. One of the greatest lessons I learned from Gael Kerchenbaum during our mentorship earlier this year was the importance of gesture and silhouette. I now try to prioritize those over anatomy, especially during the blockout phase, like in today's study.
1-hour torso study, trying to get back on track with ZBrush after a long break. The last time I properly used ZBrush was three months ago, and I realized I have to relearn a lot of things that never quite made it into my muscle memory😅
Clay modelling practice using J-Mac Classic Clay... which actually looks dangerously close to chocolate and I love it.
Wrapping up my dragon after an incredible mentorship with Gael Kerchenbaum (www.artstation.com/gaelkerchenb...). I’m truly grateful for his guidance. It pushed me beyond what I thought were my limits 💪 This has been a wonderful journey. #3dscupting #3dcg #zbrush #marmosettoolbag #art
Day 2 of my 25‑minute clay sculpting practice. Hopefully I can keep it up for at least two weeks to prepare for the workshop. #nspclay #traditionalsculpting #clayart #traditionalart
Visited the Tokyo National Museum the other day. I sometimes feel out of step with the modern world because museums feel so much like home to me.
Built a torso armature for clay sculpting, and it turned out really well. It’s just a bit smaller than I expected, so I might scale it up next time. #3dprinting
Tried to see how the anatomical details would show in this particular setup using the Lanteri–Kinglien model I’ve been wanting to print in physical form. Layer lines were quite visible around the overhang areas, but I think I can fix that with a bit of filling and sanding. #3dprinting #BambuLab
Getting fine details with a 0.2 mm nozzle (right). I used to think I had to give up on fine detail with FDM printing, but this really impressed me. I still prefer SLA for the kind of art I make, though.
Bambu Lab A1 mini test: I'm actually surprised by how easy it is to use almost right out of the box (and the printing is so much fun to watch!) Need to run another test using the 0.2mm nozzle. #3dprinting #BambuLab
On my blog, I wrote more about Ulupi and my thought process in creating this piece, along with additional renders from different angles. torigoyamon.com/2026/03/19/s...
"The Serpent’s Tears, Eternal Afterglow" A final gaze at the sun before returning to the depths of the water kingdom. A moment left unwritten... the story of the Naga princess, Ulupi. #Zbrush #Maya #3dart #Mythology
Personal work WIP Spent the last four days in Maya with no clue what I was doing 99% of the time, but somehow it’s starting to come together. #maya #digitalsculpting

Mentorship assignment WIP: working on the skin this week! I’m about 40% there, but my sanity and eyes are nearly gone at this point, so why not give our dragon a cute pair of wings and a diaper (no idea how this diaper works)😇 #zbrush #digitalsculpting #wip #dragon
Bought a cup warmer to soften my NSP clay, so I tested it on some chunks… It works alright, though I might eventually want a larger one. It looks dangerously edible, except it smells like clay.

Personal work WIP: Sculpting from bones and working inside-out actually makes more sense to me now :D Might give him a few more tweaks before moving on to adding skin and fur. #zbrush #wip #digitalsculpting #anthropomorphism
Mentorship Assignment (Week 8) Not sure about how to handle the traps for the wings, but I hope it's beginning to look more convincing. #zbrush #wip #dragon #creaturedesign
