Can't disagree. I have nudged further left between 2016 and now. And not in a reactionary way; I've had solid realizations about numerous topics. And the Democratic party just seems impotent right now, with the exception of these progressive, DSA, people-focused candidates.

From the bad place, part of Hunter B's response to Joe Rogan. I didn't include the diplomatic shit at the beginning because I think UFC is toxic. But the rest of it is really well expressed.

My problem is that I believe some of our public spaces are sacred. And unlike many of the great powers that came before us, these American monuments belong to all of us. Not to whoever happens to hold power at the moment.
The White House does not belong to Donald Trump. It does not belong to any President. It belongs to the people. To treat it as Caesar treated the Colosseum is antithetical to everything our founding fathers fought for.
This is not Rome. Presidents are not emperors doling out bread and circuses for the peasants. The White House is the People’s House. This “celebration” could have happened in any stadium within a stone’s throw of the South Lawn. No one would have had an issue with it.
But that was obviously Donald Trump’s whole point. By holding the event on the South Lawn, what he was saying to the rest of us is:
“This is my house. I own it. I will do with it what I please. I’ll build a colosseum and have the gladiators fight under my gaze. I’ll tear down the East Wing. I’ll pave over the Rose Garden. I’ll cover everything in gold and marble. I’ll erase the names of all the men who came before me.”
The fights were an exhibition of imperial domination, not a celebration of our 250th anniversary as a democracy.
The White House is not Buckingham Palace. It is not the Palace of Versailles. It is not the Forbidden City of Beijing. It does not belong to an emperor, or a king, or a commissar.
The White House belongs to us. All of us. The person who sits behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office is nothing more than an honored guest. A temporary caretaker.
The President is our servant. Not our Caesar.

This happened in Phoenix yesterday. I feel like this is a metaphor. It's the new flaming dumpster meme.

The contents of a garbage truck dumped in the middle of a roadway, half of it on fire. The truck can be seen in the distance. It's a standard safety precaution that if a fire is detected inside the garbage hold, the entire contents are dumped.

Some general aspects of the Trump accuser's story have been confirmed popular.info/p/trumps-all...

Post and Courier, a media outlet based in Charleston, South Carolina, verified key aspects of the victim’s story around the time of the alleged Trump assault. For example, the victim claimed “her mother became aware that Epstein had nude photos of the teen from their sexual encounters and was demanding money to keep them hidden.” She told the FBI that this “extortion demand caused her mother to steal funds from her real estate company.” The Post and Courier obtained public records showing that her mother was “accused of stealing $22,000 from the escrow account” at the time. The victim also said that these financial crimes ultimately landed her mother in “a state prison near Columbia.” Public records obtained by the Post and Courier confirm her mother’s incarceration.

Smaller details also checked out. For example, the victim told the DOJ that she once bumped into Epstein at a Rick James concert in Savannah. Archival newspaper databases show that James regularly played in the Savannah area at the time.

These new developments do not prove that the substance of the victim’s allegations is true. But, put into context with what we already knew about Trump and how the Epstein files have been handled, it suggests her claims should be taken seriously.
