Commission a fellow player got of a scene from a game a few years back, and the most HAWKwardly-timed transformation. My PC is the half-elf girl doing the heartfelt dialogue. It's okay to let your dramatic scenes have comedic elements, it can make them more memorable!

One of my favorite parts of map-making is adding dirt and other textures. I'm currently grime-ing the fuck out of a dungeon maze, which is part of the WIP transition from the scrawlings of an unstable person to an actual TTRPG map.

I love this couple more than any other fictional couple. Seeing them as adorable kids and then the time skip! And suddenly we have new heroes and they're super badass and Enzo turned into WHO NOW and I've had a thing for one-eyed characters ever since.

The creepiest twist turned out to be that the "demon gem" was just a rock covered in old, dried blood, and the "evil cult" was a clan of otherwise-mundane insane cannibals. Who needs to invent scary plots when folklore does it for you!

I saw this about LOTR's narrative construction, and it made me think about worldbuilding as a GM. I run homebrew, and while I put a lot of work into detailing the world and making it interesting, I haven't focused on making the players CARE about the world they're in. #ttrpg #gm #gming #dnd

It's #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth or #DVAM! I work in DV, and we get asked a lot what someone should do if they think a loved one is experiencing abuse. I want to emphasize _financial support_. Financial abuse occurs in literally 99% of DV cases, and is a major barrier to survivor safety.

I do something like this! I create a mixed table of events and combat for new travel. Players roll on the chart to queue up character-specific moments, but sometimes I Rule of Cool. I put some of my "semi-random" encounter prompts on a graphic, please feel free to use them! #dnd #ttrpg

1. A raccoon follows the party. If approached, it poses a riddle and will only speak the riddle.
“My rivers are dry, my forests have no trees, my towns are flat and empty, and my roads cannot be walked on. What am I?” (A map.)
If the riddle is solved, the raccoon vanishes in a swirl of leaves and laughter, leaving behind many gold pieces. When examined, the gold pieces are quite old, maybe even ancient.
2. A medical wagon is broken down by the side of the road. Opportunity to help, work, or learn info.
Free help is rewarded with healing potions and a medicine kit.
3. A drunk half-orc challenges the party to a wrestling contest.
DC 15 strength check. If someone beats her, she hands over 50g.
If she beats someone, they gain a level of exhaustion.
4. Someone in the party reminds you of a favorite old acquaintance or friend. Tell us about them!
5. The party encounters a Kobold traveling merchant with his little cart. he doesn’t have much to sell now, but if they buy from him, he’ll level.
Next time, he’ll show up with better items!
6. The party encounters an apathetic bandit not doing his best to rob them. Inspire him to live a better life and get his bandit stuff (thieves’ kit, simple things from explorer’s pack, a healing potion, a hidden gold piece, etc).
7. “Spotlight Moment.” Roll for a player to take control of the scene and initiate RP or describe what they’re doing. Once one player gets a spotlight moment, they won’t be part of the roll again until every other player has had one spotlight moment.
