Speaking of crazy things in CBD offices, here’s the transom window control for the men’s bathroom at the old Whitney main office. Turn the knob to raise the pole to move the lever. 😉 I cannot imagine working in those buildings pre AC.

Tim’s Slow Readers Club moves on. Who is Government - The Untold Story of Public Service, edited by Michael Lewis is a series of essays on government workers. I’m not an unbiased observer here. The book is great. It will make you laugh and cry (especially the last story. 👍👍
Tim’s Slow Readers list rolls on. The anniversary of the execution of Ney reminded me i just finished @bri74.bsky.social ‘s Marshal Ney - Fall from Glory. Lots of tidbits I didn’t know. Ney’s always the right guy in the right place, or the worst guy at the wrong time, with little in-between. 👍👍

I’m laughing. Sitting watching the new Superman movie. I had left the theater to use the facilities at the show, so I missed the credits which I typically hang around for. And this comes up when I rewatch. 😉
It was there opening night of the Lafayette Bicentennial. Some other guys were there too. 😉
Happy birthday to the Emperor of the French, Napoleon Bonaparte! Doesn’t look a day over 256 years old. 😉 Love him or hate him, we’re still talking about him, his impact then, and his impacts upon our world now.
