This plate is more than 100 years old! The hummingbird painted at the top, an Avocetbilled Hummingbird, looks quite different these days! It's bill isn't nearly as dramatically bent.
Took a trip to see the birds today. We heard a bunch of birdsong but didn't get any bird photos. But here are some wildflowers!
Ultimately, I wasn't able to go to the protests yesterday. A Portland police officer broke my thumb at a May Day event in 2001. My body remembers the terror and the pain and would not let me go. I admit this because we all have lines we can't cross. We all #Resist in our own ways. See y'all Sat.
