"Maybe" turned into "If you know me at all", I'm at my 132nd ballpark, watching the Lake County Captains host the South Bend Cubs
Back at the Jake! My fourth game with the SABR crowd, and second time at Progressive Field. #SABR54
First pitch in Milwaukee. Cool to be back after 25 years, but damn is it hot here 🥵 Go Brewers!
Ok, you made me check to see if I had any Pilots cards, and I do have one. As for Lou, I remember reading later on about his multiple rookie cards and was glad to pick them up, 20 or so years ago.
A4 For me its Burnside Bridge in Antietam. #ParkChat To see such a beautiful and serene scene now, but know what happened there in 1862... 😔
Not me. Above water only. :) I greatly enjoyed my boat tour there. #ParkChat
Went looking for gators in Big Cypress last year...did NOT expect to see a manatee. Felt so lucky. #ParkChat
Waco Mammoth was a good example. I arrived at closing but rangers said I earned the stamp for trying. Had an asterisk on my list that I finally erased last month. #ParkChat
A3. #ParkChat. I'd love to see any of those W animals--weasel, wolf, or wolverine. But the moose was the first critter I really wanted to see, and that happened in the great north woods of NH a little over 30 years ago.
Here's a color-coded map of my NY sites visited. The red pins are all of the NY NPS sites. It was a fairly early NPS quest for me. #ParkChat
Work brought me to North Carolina, and that let me check off another new ballpark) in the inaugural season for the Wilson Warbirds no less) and a new NPS site... Back to conference mode...
The landing was the first day of my trip. Loved it being interrupted with the followups of the missions. Also really glad to work in a stop to the Houston Space Center in the middle of it bsky.app/profile/tthr...
Greetings from Corpus Christi! Final new venue of this trip. Best part of the ballpark so far? Bumping into a young ballpark-chasing couple from the northeast on their way to PHX to join the all-30 club. Congrats to them! Anyway, Whataburger Field means a Whataburger burger, right? Done! 🍔⚾😋
First pitch as the Sugar Land Space Cowboys host the Tacoma Rainiers at Constellation Field. Of note to me, I have now seen all of the PCL (AAA) teams at home, though I'll have to circle back to SLC to be current...
A2 Yes, Homestead provides good access indeed. One of my favorite brown signs... #ParkChat
RIP Davey Lopes. I always liked the stolen base studs, even if they were on the other team.
What would I submit, Doug, for a "Tranquility" theme? Glimmerglass Lake is aptly named, and suits your theme I think. And when you get enough of the tranquility stuff, just head 10 minutes down the road to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Here's the list of my first new stadium visits each season. (Where blank, it's Yankee stadium.)
Q9. #ParkChat The wonderful Everglades: well, a 2-star Yelp review started "Tbh, its quite boring." [sic]. For myself, I was in no rush to see it either, seeing 50 others before it, but have been back twice since. What NPS site did you completely misjudge?
I found another waterfall, just about an hour away. This one the tallest in adjacent Columbia County.
I took a walk to a waterfall yesterday. I didn't expect the trail to cross from NY and MA, but there was the sign. Anyway, Bash Bish Falls was a fine reward for my mostly uphill walk along the snow and ice.
A8 Since I mentioned the BRP, here are two pictures from it. I was there in later May 2021. I was a bit too early to see the rhododendrons blooming... #ParkChat
RIP Mickey Lolich. I think it was that "record breaker"card that made me take notice of him, but I was glad to have a few other cards of his in my collection and then to add a few others later on.
