How @drownedingravy.bsky.social and I are spending 4th of July evening- watching some Hitchcock in the backyard
Two of my most legendary photos of other people drinking had their anniversaries this week. The first is from college and led to an eventful @papajackjohn.bsky.social leg tattoo. The second is from an early morning law school class, featuring a classmate whose whereabouts are now unknown
This is the author. They've deleted the article apparently, but it was presenting a bunch of really heinous arguments about how the left needs to prioritize "safety on public transit" by forcibly instutionalizing homeless people, and that not doing so will force people to convert to fascism
Is Oregon vs. Youngstown State the only possible waterfowl vs waterfowl matchup in D1?
Real Wife Guy hours: walking to 7/11 in 10 degree temps and 9 inches of snow because my wife had a hankering for a fountain Diet Coke
Meanwhile, last night I was subjected to the 2009 Disney CGI animated Christmas Carol. Terrible. Hideous animation, bland musical score, tone all over the place. No idea why they though a physical comedian like Jim Carrey made sense for a nuanced voice acting role. Don't recommend this one at all
Revisiting a classic for the first time in a long time while visiting the in-laws: Mickey's Christmas Carol. Still holds up, although the short run time hurts it. In typical Disney fashion, they lay it on thick- Scrooge is arguably a bigger piece of shit in this than any other rendition I've seen
Following it up with A Wish for Wings That Work. Criminally underrated. I can't believe Berkeley Breathed didn't like it. Featuring secret cameos by Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman and a mixed media scene using footage from Lost Horizon. Really clever and different.
Christmas movie/special watchlist starts tonight. Kicked it off with the GOAT
