You won't believe this, but there's a German word for that

The German word in question is Lebensraum, literally "living space", the policy which saw the annexation of neighbouring countries in the 1930s for ethnic Germans to live in.

Death by Lightning (the name of the series) was shot in Hungary so I expected some reuse of 19thC locations etc from The Terror, as well as stylistic motives of historical prestige miniseries. I was not expecting them to hire the same calligrapher.

I've heard two otherwise intelligent people get this wrong on Radio 4 in the last week. Don't let it be you! Choose your own mnemonic (alphabetical? ascend/descend?) and don't confuse ancestors and descendants in polite company, or anyone with glancing experience of history or genealogy.

Dry mouth and dry eyes similar to Sjögren's syndrome may occur. In the late stages, jaundice, generalised edema, oliguria, neuropathy, fever, convulsions, and eventual death are frequently seen.
