Sometimes an artist. Always a gremlin. She/they.
Matt built a temporary back seat for Karla so that our deeply codependent beasts can accompany me on my many errands.
Congratulations on your purchase! You should build an entire desk for this thing.
I scored a vintage Dremel router attachment at my favorite junk store yesterday and I'm loving the copy in the manual.
Scenes from road trip. I can't tell you how nice it is to be able to go to Skagitopia again.
Some people have beanie babies or rubber ducks on their dash. This guy has a life-size skull and two tiny living dogs.
Only 2 out of 6 speakers are hooked up and someone cut the antenna but the stereo still works!
I dropped a car seat (as in the entire driver's seat from my Volvo) on my foot earlier but then I saw a frog so it's a good day after all
Karla Karlsdotter passed another test today: up the big-ass hill on the Mountain Loop without anything resembling overheating. I don't think I've ever owned a car that had a good radiator before. I don't know what to do with myself!
We dearly love our new idiot, John (L), but not a day goes by that I don't think fondly of the late great Bucky (R), the single-toothed lovebug we got at Denny's.
Karlsdotter finds so far: 19 Lummi Island Ferry tickets, 1 BART ticket, 1 chunk of soapstone chalk, 1 bobby pin, 1 metal starfish, ¢14 US, ¢10 CAN, 1 stubby flat blade screwdriver, 1 pair rusty-ass tin snips.
My beloved Karl is stepping down. He will pass on his battery, tires, and legacy to this sedan, newly christened Karlsdotter.
Driving past a house I've passed hundreds of times, if not more, while running errands the other day, I noticed this big metal sun on their shed. "OMG that's so cute and funny!" But then I got closer and ... Oh. Nevermind.
A few weeks ago I put a bag of books in my trunk and this morning I actually remembered to stuff them in the little free library at the park! It was about half full alreadyand had some really good titles in it for all ages. I grabbed a copy of Shanghai Girls for myself.
It took me a minute to figure out why there were reverse footprints on the back porch on a dry day -- it's from me putting spray sunscreen on my bare ankles and sandaled feet this morning!
