His presence now doesn't feel much like anything, either, but Haman remembers. This was the star that had pulled the Red Comet out of her orbit.

Now, he wastes both their time searching the linoleum tile under their feet like it holds the secrets of the cosmos. He's been chewing on his left thumbnail for about three minutes.

With reluctance, her pistol returns to the holster against her thigh, beneath the starched pleats of her skirt. Amuro Ray's eyes flick to the exposed nylon underneath with vague interest, but as the fabric swishes back into place, his black stare abandons her legs, dulling when it returns to her face. (ambient noise, intercom?)

"I brought you here to speak to you, and I expect you know what about." (THREATEN?) He stops chewing. "So speak."

He mumbles around the top of his thumb. "I don't know what Char's thinking."

She stares back at her new acquisition. "You know better than I."
