Obviously it’s been restored and the various gun emplacements (called Bastions) have plaques of those who contributed. “In memory of such and such thanks to their family” and so on. The biggest gun is at Bastion E. It’s absolutely huge.
Although we plan where we will be on a trip, we never really have a rigid idea of what we will see and do. Except for this one, where C and I agreed that we were definitely, absolutely going to pay our respects to this fella.
