What's with the rain #lka, day was spent unclogging gutters and trying not to doze off. The temperature is nice though.

Demonstration, I didn't want to run the siren as i didn't want to wake anyone up, but it has a volume level and multiple tunes. They have a temperature sensor as well.

Got some #Tuya Neo siren IoT devices from a colleague, liberated them with #ESPHome as they were using the #ESP8266

I work with #IEC61508 #safety systems, and some of our colleagues were talking about a contractor that does SIL4 systems who builds tank. We all chuckled that tanks are safety certified, I made a snarky remark the tanks are not SIL4 certified if you're brown. Asked ChatGPT to make a poem for me

I used the standard go slices sort functions and it took 0.38ms and 0.56ms for part1 and part 2 respectively. This result is from a go benchmark tho.

I managed to get all the replacement parts for under 20 USD on Aliexpress! You can't find an exact replacement cartridge for it, but made a bet on the ATN3600 and it works great! Bought a slip mat and 45 adapter to complete the setup.

Fixed an old turntable for dad, it was given to us by a neighbour, super dusty and falling apart. Surprisingly the belt was in tack and after some CLA (Clean Lubricate Adjust) and a few parts, it's back!

Turntable playing "Day by day" by Shakatak, it looks a bit rough. On the console there is a IPA Cleaner bottle.

More on that, make sure that your #BLE devices like your smart watch, headphones, etc support and have enabled MAC randomisation. As you can see some devices do not do that, like this "Watch" SSID. A Generic SSID and MAC randomisation can "improve" your #opsec significantly.

As for some numbers, I collected unique data (MAC) on, 1344 Bluetooth Low Energy stations *(not really) 443 Bluetooth stations 839 WiFi stations * TIL: BLE has address randomisation, which some devices have, but then there's dumbos like me 🤦‍♂️ Lesson: Keep your default SSID, don't get tracked!

I did some #wardriving (Passive, listen only). No fancy setups here, just my Android with the @wiglenet.bsky.social app. But here comes the fun part, this was my ride. The Kandy to Colombo intercity express train in #srilanka. War-railroading? What do we call this?

This is dumb but it works, I recently added a /now page for my website. Thought it would be nice to add my heavy rotation from Apple Music. Wrote some Apple Script (with some LLM help) to make a JSON of my heavy rotation playlist. During my deployment (via #Ansible) it will pass to #Hugo SSG
