Over the yrs I have read countless books, as well as articles, etc. I am concerned that my younger relatives will not follow in that pattern. The benefits of that habit have altered the course of my life. I don't deal with people who are dumb, meaning most, on more than a courteous sort of level.

You are a mayor of the people by the people for the people. That is very rare on elected officials these days. I lived in NYC. I lost my rent stab apartment under Rudy who made it too easy for landlords to bully us out of our homes. It worked out ok for me. I never took buses but this is great news.
Again, you change positions on any issue, it means you gain some and you lose some. Less "weakness" on Palestine would have cost as many stay homes or votes as it would've gained. Imho
It's a carefully balanced scale, if she would've said more about X, she loses Y. Those people had to make a choice based on what she presented, they did make a choice, they participated in this outcome we have. The Dems do have a lesson to learn here. Stop picking the candidates for their voters.

I find it very noteworthy that Dem Socialist candidates are winning. Voters are wholeheartedly rejecting the status quo of both established political parties, adding a fuck you with a cherry on top to Trump, the MAGA movement, the entire GOP & the established Dem party. I do not recall a former time in US history, in my extended life-time, at least, when we had a #megalomaniac so fixated on remaining in political power. My polling indicates most Americans view the war as Trump vs Iran, not America vs Iran, - & that most voters are on Iran's side in this conflict. They're hoping Iran will defeat Trump, & trigger a meltdown of the president. The GOP refused, the Dems were incompetent, - so now it's left up to Iran!
I refuse to participate, celebrate, or even smile, for the July 4th 2026 holiday. Let things get as divided & chaotic as it gets. Lately I'm using my history as a horticulturist to reduce the stress of the political horror story we find ourselves the middle of. Michelle Cottle, who I am a huge fan of, from the NY Times, has an opinion piece out since June 19th stating that Americans (and states) should purposely NOT participate in the 250th year celebrations on July 4th. I'm so fucking disgusted by the piece of shit Trump & agree with Michelle completely.
