Warhammer, Bolt Action. Mutuals and all that if your into the small miniature nonsense. Dad (He/Him). Also Imperial Guard takes up about 90% of my posts. A member of the Triumvirate High Council of the Imperial Guard, Master of the Divisio Logistica.
Thanks man. Its why I do as much on a model I enjoy then I put it down. I can go "all out" on stuff, but my god it gets boring. These are toys to be played with and painting is part of the 'play' for me. I stop when its not fun
Thank you very much My regiments fluff is the survivours of a tyranid invasion being merged into one ad-hoc guard regiment tasked with plantary defence. Each different regiment (Mordian, Tallarn etc) is a company from the new regiment. Lets me collect all the guard models that way 😁
Its beautiful. Love to see another mad guard player out in the wild. My own (still work in progress) force.
Painted a few eldar on HDU with my son (hes doing great). So yep... always paint when you can. And question. 2 works when you do question 1.
For Armour. I think Nate has a good Retro-scifi vibe on my mini factory Again, onlu if your printing.
When you say STL, do you mean print your own? You could go with a true classic then and just print all the Praetorian sculpts.
If anyones interested in the booklet. The Sergeant with powersword is a nice 2nd edition touch.
I've only got about 40 classic Cadians you can easily top that 🫡 2nd edition Guard have some good heavy weapon teams that can split off from the squad and some nice tanks. You'll do well. And in fairness my Mordians only took a month. You've got six times as long 😁👍
Guard!!!! Lovely classic models. Having a good group of friends to hobby alongside is always motivating. Or painting Guard in general. Also very motivating.
Having put together and painted one of these, I have to say they are lovely minis. Easy to put together. Lovely design. And the trim is slightly raised as well, so painting is much easier than the old models. I rate the old models a 10/10 for nostaligia, but these get a 10/10 for quality.
I like the cold too. One last chancers novel has them on Valhalla, after a journey back to the settlement they enjoy hot baths and Grok Steak. So it has its upsides. Plus you mostly fight Orks, which if you had to pick a foe.... I would probably chose Orks.
The lore varies. Either it never rotates (impossible) or is rotation matches the solar cycle (so one side is constantly facing its sun as it rotates around it). Cold, crowed, dark hive world. But you do get a fancy uniform
Serious Question Time. Pick your Platoon Commander and why... You join the Regiment, you fight against its most common foe, you join the planets culture, you grew up in its enviroment. #Nerdlings #oldhammer #warhammercommunity.
Agreed 😅 I think I did a good job on the paint for them. But honestly @grumpykiltpin.bsky.social is some kind if 3d wizard!
Thank you 🫡 Do you remember Commissar Tanks? So cool. I need to make one at some point.
I need a shiney Praetorian Force in Red to at least match my Mordian one. And yes I have some painted about 20 years ago and some more Modern Victorian Minis. But its not the same 😅
Literally did this a few weeks ago in a 3rd edition game. Road bump infantry squads distract the Chaos players rhinos. Worked a charm.
