As the summer is winding down and we are preparing for a new academic year, we are enjoying looking back at photos from the past year's events and activities.

DCHA associate director Katie Burnett received a fellowship to conduct research at the South Caroliniana Library. While there, she connected with the Humanities Collaborative director Qiana Whitted, and the Institute for Southern Studies director Mark Smith and associate director Matthew Simmons.

DCHA Faculty Fellow Janelle VanderKelen used a Riggsby Travel Fellowship to visit the Abbey of St. Hildegard to conduct research in connection with her film, The Golden Thread. The Riggsby Travel Fellowship was created through the generous support of Stuart and Katherine Riggsby.

We were so pleased that Dr. Sharon Ryan, Director of the WVU Humanities Center, reached out to us to plan a visit! She toured the center and shared ideas and aims with director Amy Elias. We were happy to hear that the DCHA was "at the top of her list" of centers to visit.

Director Amy Elias and Associate Director Katie Burnett attended the Consortium of Humanities Centers and Institutes Annual Meeting in Banff. Amy, a member of the Advisory Board, organized a day of director workshops. Katie connected with programming directors from across the country.
