I’m a fiber artist who listens to a lot of baseball and TBTL while I knit, quilt, and spin. I have a podpet named Cosette who keeps me company.
Trying to make progress in this project tonight while listening to the Mariners game. Baseball blocks on front, red/patchwork panels on back. I’ve got one more patchwork panel to sew then I can start sandwiching.
Before and after fiber photos. I did my first try at combing this Tibetan Lamb fiber that I recently washed and dried. It was quite matted/felted so it took a lot of work to comb it. I did about half of the amount I had.
Today’s adventure: my first time scouring wool and alpaca. Now to learn to comb/card it!
I got a box of scraps off buy nothing and spent the afternoon cutting them into usable pieces. Very satisfying!
My blue ribbon knitting projects and a red ribbon spinning skein from the Fiber Fusion fiber arts show that was held recently in Monroe WA.
My supervisor watching me assemble this quilt today. Pattern is Batter Up by Cluck Cluck Sew.
I took a #handspinning class on techniques for spinning striped fibers. Here are some samples:
Plied this today. It was the shop color way for Stranded by the Sea for Spin Together. I just didn’t get it done in time for the competition.
I won this gift basket at the Whidbey Spin In, and then won a second basket that I shared with my friends! Loads of fiber and yarn! Plus I bought a braid too. I’m set for awhile.
Just finished. Unknown fiber, some random wool, because I got it just to practice with.
Look what I got today! Now to learn how to use it! 😳 I have an Eel Wheel but this is my first traditional wheel. #spinningyarn #teamstrandedspinners
What I spun today. My best effort yet! I’ve only been spinning a few months. #spinningyarn
Got a tattoo today. 5 paw 🐾 prints for my pups that I’ve had over the years. 🩷
Trying to find the strength to keep knitting just a little more ribbing on this top that I’ve been working on forEVER. Then it needs an I-cord edging on the neckline and it will finally be done. Acres of stockinette in sock yarn on size 3 needles that I only knit a little each night before bed.
Sweater nearly finished. Needs more blocking and I’m gonna redo the ribbing on the sleeves. But I’m happy with the color work!
