There are so many real horrors and it feels extra injurious that some corporate conglomerate bought out the conglomerate that owned our Orange Theory and decided to close two in the East Bay (3 in SF already went through this), including ours.

My pasta à la bullshit is: noodles, jar of pasta sauce with chopped whatever the hell veggies I have (canned green beans! Fresh onion and mushroom chopped and sauteed! Frozen broccoli!) with any herbs in cupboard. I have used cheddar cheese instead of parm because that’s what I had. It’s fine

Some people mistake our broken hearts for weakness. Incorrect. They make us capable of so much more. Together. Redwoods have shallow root systems but how they go wide. And they hold each other up by being in these clusters. Be a redwood.

The best antidote to authoritarianism is to act in direct opposition. Show up for others, find beauty, laugh, hang out with kids, and do everything in our power to disrupt the power of authoritarian white supremacy values from our individual lives to our work to our civic participation. Yes, it fell over as we were putting it up because it’s 2025 but now it has the proper base and is staying up because in 2025 we have developed different muscles and expanded our community ✊🏼. Light and love, always.
