glad to see you have definitively answered this important question from the steam forums:
make your own lego william mitchell relief! (photo from www.greenwayqs.com/journal-post... )
was this the part where you turned back? (photo from wikipedia) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ca...

wut (not objecting, just that... that repo is called 'crap' for a reason, its very hacky and unfinished)
indiana jones great circle tackles this trope: long-sealed ancient tunnels have lit torches on the walls—but they are oil-burning, all connected to these pipes that still feed oil to them from the city above. then you find lit candelabras: and your npc companion says "candles! someone's been here!"
its kinda ridiculous to set up. step 1: define the earth's radius… but with careful colour choices and good cloud/distant art textures, it can produce some really nice results—second picture is a wip mission of mine without distant art yet.
im not fully on board yet with a lot of things Pathologic 3 is doing, but i absolutely love that they went full Synecdoche, New York with this bit:
here are the colour labels in action. with Stair Skip turned on, you cant walk onto the spiral staircase, but your cursor changes to an arrow and you click to use it; then the screen fades to black, you hear a few footsteps, and it fades back in with you standing at the other end of the staircase.
for motion sickness, there are new options for field of view, options to customise the cursor and the center of the screen, and skipping some stairways entirely:
keys and controller inputs can be remapped, and you have an option to move at the faster "stroll" speed or the default, slower "walk speed"
