For today's #birdOfTheDay alt theme #Migratory this male rose-breasted grosbeak who arrived in the spring and is still a frequent visitor to my yard in NW Wisconsin found an alternative perch on a roll of chicken wire.

Thank you, my friend. I took a similar photo this morning. The lilies are growing wild near the road. Were yours wild? They are exotic. We have low air quality today because of wildfires north of us, so I shouldn't have been out there. I hope your air is good. Have a great day! ☺️

Took this photo yesterday standing above Lake Superior's south shore on a hiking trail. I only had my macro lens, so I've cropped out Mom Merganser to get a better look at the young Common Mergansers for Rob's #BirdOfTheDay Alt theme of #NewLife, any of this year's new broods.

We're skipped the parade and went hiking instead at Amnicon Falls State Park near Superior, Wisconsin. The trail winds through woods and along the rocky shore on both sides of the Amnicon River. #StunDay #Hiking

This photo shows a small section of the Amnicon River that flows over and around rocky formations. There are a series of waterfalls on the river. This image show two miniature rapids going over rock on the right mid image. Trees and a partly cloudy sky are reflected in the pool of water in front of the falls. In the foreground part of the rocky shore is covered in green moss. Tall pine trees are in the back on either side of the river. The sky in between and above the trees is mostly white clouds with small patches of blue sky, making it a perfect day for hiking.

Vertical lines in the foreground are part of metal fencing guiding walkers on the end of the Ashland Ore Dock. The tops of more fencing are seen above the initial fencing. Looking past the fencing is Lake Superior with small ripples on it caused by the wind. Bluffs at the other side of the bay are seen on the left in the middle of the photo and on the right is the Ashland Breakwater Lighthouse poised at the end of a breakwater. Above this is the sky that actually was gray on this day.

Rob says today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #LittleBrownBirds, birds with mainly brown plumage. I took several photos of this Northern House Wren building a nest in a bird house. Males build multiple twig nests to attract females. No females sighted so far. 🪶
