"A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
Some decent media coverage of the Victorian Socialists teachers who've helped lead the rank-and-file revolt in the AEU and who will be standing as candidates in the upcoming election - challenging a swathe of sitting Labor MPs including Minister for Education and leadership contender Ben Carroll.
Rebel teachers - members of Victorian Socialists - mounting a challenge to Labor Minister for Education Ben Carroll and other sitting MPs in this November's state election. We love to see it! ❤️ 🙌
This afternoon Victorian Socialists members in Melbourne's north attended a small but lively anti-racist speak out at Broadmeadows Town Hall. Wherever the toxic far-right politics of racism and division raises its head we need to organise the community to push it back!
This teacher is Victorian Socialists candidate for Niddrie Brendan Laws. Brendan is among a group of more than ten public school teachers and educational support staff who will be running in this November's state election as candidates with VS.
The view from the steps of Parliament House in Melbourne this morning. A sea of red as striking Victorian public school teachers and educational support staff send a powerful message to the Victorian Labor government. These legends deserve a better offer than what's been on the table so far! ✊
A sea of striking Victorian school teachers and educational support staff assembled now in the CBD. When working-class people stand together, stand up and fight for a better deal we're a force that's impossible to ignore! Still time to join in on the march to parliament. ✊ ❤️ PHOTOS: Nicky Minus
Solidarity with Victorian public schools teachers and education support staff who are striking today. These workers - stretched to breaking point and having suffered a significant real wage cut under their 2022 EBA - deserve a deal with real improvement in both wages and conditions!

The Age is reporting that the Victorian government is planning to ditch the Group Voting Ticket system for the upcoming state election. If true, this is an excellent development - ensuring voters, not parties, will control what happens to their preferences in the upper house.
The Victorian state election will be held on Saturday 28th November. Victorian Socialists are running candidates across the state. Today, we're proud to introduce our candidate for Sydenham, Shania Khan.
It was a big night last night with VS branch meetings taking place in Richmond, Melbourne, Brunswick, Northcote and Preston. 150+ people in attendance despite the freezing weather, some great discussions and lots of new faces (including 14 who joined on the night).
Via VS Thomastown: "Snaps from our biggest branch meeting yet! We discussed the outlook for the state election and the next steps for our local campaign. We will be holding multiple events in the coming weeks and need your help to cover as much ground as possible so we hope to see you there!"
Classic 'working-class battler' constituencies getting behind One Nation in the run up to the state election: property developers who don't like paying more tax to withhold vacant land from the market and business owners who think Australia's IR laws are somehow not anti-worker enough.
Thanks to everyone who made it along yesterday as the VS Essendon, Melbourne and Richmond district branches came together in Flemington to discuss and organise around socialist solutions to the housing crisis!
Shout out to John Faine for being the first mainstream media commentator to notice how supercharged we are coming into this November's state election. Factually though we're so supercharged we'll be challenging the Greens and Labor in the outer suburbs and regional areas too.
The Victorian state election will be held on Saturday 28th November. Victorian Socialists are running candidates across the state. Today, we're proud to introduce our candidate for Niddrie, Brendan Laws.

A packed house for our state election campaign strategy day in Brunswick - with VS candidates and branch coordinators coming together from across Victoria. We're aiming to run candidates in all 88 lower house districts + 8 upper house regions. A big challenge, but we're up for it!
Labor dogged Victorian teachers with a significant real wage cut in their last agreement. Teachers and support staff are stretched to breaking point (hence the ongoing exodus from the profession). They deserve a better deal!
The Victorian state election will be held on Saturday 28th November. Victorian Socialists are running candidates across the state. Today, we're proud to introduce our candidate for Sunbury, Adam Bremner.
Classic One Nation billionaire boot-licking bullish*t. Real wages are at 2010 levels, rich listers like Gina Rinehart are seeing wealth increases of $50,000 a minute, major corporations are booking record profits - but somehow the problem with the IR laws is that workers have too many rights!
