Yesterday I visited again the Kunsthalle Museum of Hamburg, this time with a map so I wouldn't lose time: Appreciating the Old Masters (1400-1800) and their imperfections. They were not the best at anatomy, or animals, or light, or figures, or perspective, but they did it; and that's inspiring.

Said softcover novellas, but only five showing because Walls of Shira Yulun and Waste Flowers are published in the same tome. The all look very cool with classic DAW style covers instead of the crap covers publishers push on any book nowadays.

Reading "Domains of Dread" (1997): I remember Vistani and how they were a racist Hammer style racist caricature of gypsies, but it fucking comes there is a Thief sub-class directly named Gypsy! I was looking on how where they were trying to convey horror and I was certainly horrified. #TTRPG

When most folk think of gypsies in Ravenloft, they picture the mysterious Vistani. Player character gypsies are not Vistani, although many of these oft-called vagabonds do have some hints of Mist walker blood in them.

I was reading about the hanafuda/hwatu playing cards and I found these were created many card sets because the Tokugawa shogunate keep banning them, among these I found these Kabufuda sets from the Showa era, clearly following European playing card styles and Bauhaus aesthetics. Really cool!

Kabufuda card set, the four sets are practically identical, and goes from 1 to 10, being the 10 an European style king.

Another Kabufuda set, this one goes from 1 to 9 and has three figures (like poker) and appart from the four sets there is a demon face instead of the joker and a blank card.

Last week we found this cool vintage motorcycle while strolling down Bremen. I checked and it's a Simson KR 51 "Schwalbe" (produced between 1964-86 in East Germany). I love how square it is and the minimalist instrument panel.
