Happy World Ocean Day! 🌊 #art 🐡🦑

A colossal squid floating in a black ocean, lit as if by spotlight. One of its tentacles reaches toward the screen, affording a view of the swiveling hooks in its suckers. Splashes of green frame lit sections of the squid, contrasting with its reddish orange body.

Before a tempestuous ocean, a Northern gannet banks rightward, its long slender wings spread to their full length. A great wave crashes through the sky, framing the figure. Dark purple clouds begin to break as the sun crests the horizon in the beginnings of dawn.

A California sea lion rendered in rich brown and orange tones rests upon a rock in teal shore waters below a softly glowing orange sky. Its slender head is raised to look over its back and to the right while a large crest of white sea foam frames its figure.

Rendered in a rough painterly style, a shortfin mako shark leaps from a calm ocean tail over head, sea foam trailing its body in a loose arc. The shark, looking nearly metallic, is rimmed with orange light as a pale yellow sun hangs in a hazy orange sky, framing its streamlined figure.

Happy World Penguin Day! #art #sciArt 🪶🦑

A pair of Adélie penguins stand on an Antarctic shore, rendered in a muted vintage palette. The one further back looks to the left over its shoulder and calls out, while the one nearer us walks forward with wings raised, surely curious to investigate. Glaciers float in a dull grey ocean behind them.

An emperor penguin looks down to the chick on its feet as the sun rises, casting them both in a soft golden light.
