But then I'm hit with dominating soapy champagne bubbles that take the scent somewhere I didn't expect but also don't love? Not for me, but not for the reasons I expected.

#sotd Found my new summer perfume at scentfest - House of Dastan's Game of Joy is all the tropical fruits I love the scent/flavor of but can't stand the texture. Powerful passion fruit, mango, juicy watermelon, a little bit of heat like sweet fruit on a summer breeze. Pricey, but oh she's gorgeous.

Spent the day arting, been trying to get my Star Trek au captain/protagonist visualized. Seras is a bit like Xena if instead of just turning good after a career of being a war lord she also physically changed from an 8 foot space laser clothed valkyrie to a human for reasons.

#sotd City on Fire feels like a moodier 'by the fireplace', more of an emphasis on that burnt match note. There's a nice warmth of wood and cardamom, kind of an earthy smoke to it. As a Californian this just puts summer wildfires into my head which is not really the mood, so this one is a no for me.

#sotd If I'd tried Cape Heartache while I was in Portland it would have been THE pnw scent for me. You get the wood, the pine resin, that fresh forest accord, but with just a touch of strawberry. This feels like a strawberry perfume for folks who don't want jammy sweetness. 100% going on my list.

Dug out my markers and started drawing my Star Trek au omegaverse OCs, this guy holds one of two keys to a super weapon that can only fire if he and the captain are in full agreement. Also omegas and alphas get dog ears in my Star Trek because it's my au and I'll draw it how I want thank you.

#sotd Bull's Blood is like a really nice tobacco store with hard wood decor and a touch of dark rose. This is such a hot + spicy summer evening fragrance. I really dig it but it fits a bolder personality imo, real aries shit, an adventurous night person. Would LOVE this on a partner.

Got this meal planner at my old doctor's suggestion and even put stickers I really liked on it to try and get me to use it. But dieting as a child put an unholy loathing into tracking my food in any manner, so now it's become my chaos journal. Been fun using real art supplies, haven't drawn in ages.

#sotd Cracked open this Imaginary Authors sampler I got for my birthday. Trying Abandoned Mansion today. To me this gives more antique than abandoned, there's a warmth to it that gives friend with a large old book collection who doesn't dust super often. Woody, earthy, spicy.

I love Ikea had this room that was giving like executive who moonlights as a drag twitch streamer, but they went with the saddest shake and go wigs they could get their hands on.

Watching Dynamite randomly and seeing "the young bucks and Jericho, teaming for the first time ever!" and remembering through the fog of ages, no actually, I watched them team for the first time on a boat.

#sotd If you can get past the alcohol in the opening notes Clean Reserve's "Skin" has a pleasant heart of a warm, musky, skin scent with a bit of creamy florals. The dry down isn't bad but it's barely there. From the opening and longevity + projection I was surprised at the high price, honestly.

#sotd Maak Lab's is a lovely place in Portland focusing on very natural scents (it even looks like a plant store inside). Hinoki really captures diving through the pnw for me: wood, sharp air bright with bergamot, a touch of rain, drying down to clean linen. Fresher than I usually go for but lovely.

Tarot by Roman Ruby took me instantly to every crystal, occult, record, or head store I've been in. There's a warm, ambery opening before settling into the woody, earthy nog champa. I'm giving "seems mysterious but is totally bsing this palm reading, also might be selling weed on the side" in this.

Back home after a wild birthday week of perfume, drag, and food. Hedonism is my modus operandi, and while I've reigned it in for health reasons having a week where I could be the full trash panda debauched Roman Empress felt delightful.

Today was a lot of fun - I did a makeup class and learned some game changing skills. Yes, even makeup geniuses can improve. Also spent some lovely time at fumerie parfumerie where I fell in love with Hiram Green's "Slowdive" and grabbed an Imaginary Authors sampler to try.

#sotd Midnight by R. Rebellion is so me, this is dangerously close to what I'd probably end up making in a perfume workshop. Black Currant AND POMEGRANATE?? SOLD. And to blend that with jasmine, and a musky vanilla? I love this, my bottle kinda sucks though, kinda spits more than sprays but oh well.

It's been pretty rainy most of my time here, but today it got downright cold. Wandered into Paddy's to warm up and wasn't disappointed. They had a plum and cherry blossom cider that was fantastic.

It's my birthday trip I can have a(ll of the) little treats. Like I was telling the gal on the tour yesterday: my vacations are all about perfume, food, ghost tours, and drag shows.

Oh my god this pork belly Mac and cheese is one of the best meals I've had ever. The textures, the flavors 😭 👌

Made it to Portland with my not small amount of luggage and procured enough Mac and cheese bites for like 4 people

My collection tends to lean towards more fall/winter scents but this has been my selection since the weather has started getting warmer.
