4 years ago today I adopted this beauty from the Carlow/Kilkenny dog shelter. He's the best companion and so full of love. #adoptdontshop Marley 🐕🦺 #dogsofbluesky
Post the best selling phone from the year you were born... Mobiles didn't exist in 1976 and I think even cordless landlines were still a way off... so have this relic I spotted in a charity shop instead 🤣
I love it... so close to civilisation yet so nice. We went off the paths at the carpark and went up towards the communication masts almost entirely through the woods
A little forest walk with Marley this morning. This place is called Ticknock, and it's in the foothills of the Dublin mountains. Wherever we go in the car I bring a clean bowl and some fresh water for Marley.
O/H bought a reconditioned iphone 16 pro max... The camera is really good on it... no filters or editing here. I have a farmer's tan 🤣
Took this beautiful girl for a walk yesterday. She belongs to my sister. She was found on a road in Carlow in a box with 5 other pups a few years back. She has boundless energy and lots of love to give. And her name is Lolipop . Humans really are despicable.
Galeón Andalucia moored at Sligo Harbour this morning. A 500 tonne replica of a 17th Century Spanish Galleon. #Sligo #GaleónAndalucia #SpanishGalleonVisit #WestofIreland 🇮🇪 🇪🇸
Met with my foster Dad and brother in their local pub today at The Goblet, near Artane, Dublin 5. We had Chicken wings, Many pints of Guinness and a few whiskey chasers. Went home pissed free of charge on the 15 cos why not? I usually drive it 🤣🤣🤣
Don't know if @philipnolan.bsky.social is still active on here... I gave up on X a while back. A friend of mine sent me this on whatsapp. Thanks for the kind words Philip and great to see you are in familiar surroundings again
The world's largest replica of a 17th century Spanish Galleon, the 500 tonne Galeón Andalucía is in Sligo until this Sunday. Fine weather, time off work, car back in action, what excuse could I have for not planning a roadtrip to spend some tourist Euros on Ireland's beautiful West coast?
My 17 year old Mini up in the park. Just had a rather expensive repair job on it's engine's rocker cover. I only use the car for bringing Marley out of town or to go on roadtrips. My proximity to the city centre and free bus travel (I'm a bus driver), means I never use it around town.
Marley is a country boy at heart who was taken to live in the concrete jungle. So he relishes every opportunity to run around the vast expanse of the Phoenix Park and loves nothing more than rolling in the droppings left by it's herd of fallow deer, generations of which have lived here for centuries
It's a nice place to wander among the older graves... I never really go near my parents one tbh 🫂
Visiting Mount Jerome cemetery this morning... tomorrow is my Dad's 26th anniversary. I love the fine granite vaults and carved statues over the graves of the great and good of the Dublin of yesteryear. Death is a great leveller.. "Everyone down in the graveyard votes the same" -Christy Moore
Treating myself to breakie while I'm waiting to collect my car from the mechanic. Back in the day these books were our internet 🤣 If you were posh you might have the complete Encyclopaedia Britannica.
Happy Father's Day to those who celebrate. My dad passed 26 years ago. Today I'm hosting two special Mums and my nephew for dinner because they did the work of both parents like many mammys do.
If you see this post a picture of you in glasses...🥸🤓 If you can't see it get some specs and see above 🤣 Took this selfie yoday cos the barber gave me a fresh cut and beard trim
The best thing about dogs is they want for absolutely nothing only time from their humans. Marley's smile and look up at me on his walk made my day.
Back seat driver, or busman's holiday? Either way that's me all scrubbed up heading into town last night for a birthday dinner with the family. Goodbye 40's, Hello 50's. A lot of food and drink was consumed last night and I am off today. Normal service will resume in the morning 😂.
My bus yesterday was a twenty year old relic which is still in revenue earning service with the company. It has a capacity of 91 passengers. When it's empty it weighs 11.6 tonnes. When it's full, it's maximum permitted weight is 18 tonnes. People are heavy!!
Don't skip! Post you in another country. Somewhere in Tuscany, Italy 🇮🇹 July 2024
I'd love to know what was going through Marley's mind when I took this picture 😍😍😍
This cat followed me for a while on my little ramble through the old town in Ostuni, Italy 🇮🇹
Some liquid libation in the old town in Lecce, Southern Italy. Few more of these before dinner will be nice. I'm putting on weight here with all the lovely pizzas and pastas I've been eating.
