My cat SJ understands one word (I think. It might just be my tone of voice.) Every day at 5PM, the cats get some wet food as a treat. He'll come and sit near me when it's near the time, and when I say: "Treat??" he jumps off the couch and runs into the kitchen. Here he is, my little orca.

Happy Caturday. I have noticed that Rusty's eyes seem to change color from gold to green but here is part of the mystery solved: In this shot, the green eye is getting natural light. The gold eye is also getting some light from a lamp with an LED lightbulb in it.
Sheesh. And this was supposedly a 2 out of 5 in difficulty? Destroyed my longest streak yet of 150.

Sometimes, my cat Rusty's eyes match his fur color. Other times, they are green! I just caught a photo showing both colors at once. I have no idea how this is possible.

Whiskers in the sun. I understand that by next week, the sunny weather will depart until next year. I love the Pacific Northwest! For now, Rusty enjoys the sun.
#newcatinthehouse #cats. "OMG, she let that mean girl in the BEDROOM!" My 2 cats, Rusty and SJ, hardly get along normally, but they have finally completely bonded over the threat of a beautiful, street-smart stray cat I recently adopted. Today Jasmine finally got full run of the house.
I adopted beautiful Jasmine who's been living in my little back yard for over a year. I just couldn't let her spend another winter in the cold. After two days of keeping them apart, I let my boys Rusty and SJ meet her. Rusty: "Mom, this new girl is hissing at me!" But so far no major fights.
A very rare visitor to my patio today: a Steller's Jay. They usually keep to the deep woods.
