It was such a fun challenge! This is fun way to put it into perspective.
For the morning crew - I just finished this little warrior! Such a fun project to do something so tiny. He stands just 0.75” (2 cm) tall! #dnd #d&d #dungeonsanddragons #ttrpg #miniature #miniaturepainting #miniaturepainter
A new champion joins the campaign! What a joy to paint! #dnd #D&D #miniature #ttrpg #dungeonsanddragons #miniaturepainter
The waffles and the views from the hike were beyond amazing. I dream of the taste of these pictures.
A lovely troll who guards the plants, the shiny rocks, and the books with equal fervor.
A tortle Druid freshly off the painting stations. So many amazing details on this sculpt from Mammoth Factory. Scale: 32mm #MiniPainting #D&D #DungeonsAndDragons #Daggerheart #mini
A freshly finished mini! This one took about 20 hours or so and taught me so much! Those tiny mushrooms details were so fun 🥰 #Minipainting #DungeonsAndDragons #D&D #MiniaturePainting
I just started a @pckt.blog to put all of my mini painting and TTRPG musings and projects in one place. Come and find me here: wanderingyeti.pckt.blog Celebrating my first post is this little guy! #D&D #DungeonsAndDragons #TTRPG #Daggerheart #minipainting #miniaturepainting
A Firbolg adventurer joins the ranks. The filigree and the wood grain was so fun to paint! #DungeonsAndDragons #DnD #Daggerheart #MiniPainting #Miniature #Mini
Another small warrior joins the resistance. 28mm and about 5 hours of painting #minipainting #miniatures #mini #DnD #Daggerheart #TTRPG
Sometimes you have to take a step away from the horrors and focus on something that makes you slow down and be delicate and focused. Just finished paining this guy sculpted by Flesh of Gods and printed at 32mm scale. #D&D #DungeonsAndDragons #Daggerheart #TTRPG #minipainting
It’s a small thing to celebrate, but my very senior dog just ate a bowl of food for the first time in three days! The vet said he’s okay, just old with kidney disease that messes with his appetite, but it was really concerning and now he seems to be doing better.
A sidecar made with lemons from my own tree. A wonderful way to celebrate Yuletide!
Just finished building a new dice tray. It holds three sets of dice and the storage compartment doubles as an phone/iPad stand. I’m so pleased with how it turned out! #Dnd #D&D #TTRPG #Daggerheart
Not me, a maritime historian, finding out today that my uncle apparently had breakfast aboard the Edmund Fitzgerald a few days before it sank. He was friends with several members of the crew! Apparently his Coast Guard vessel was doing a resupply run to the Fitz. How has this never come up before?!?
Mine would be navigating this part of the Pacific Crest Trail in Newfoundland on the one year anniversary of my friend falling from a nearby cliff and dying. Who knew you could hold a chain that hard?
That moment when you commit to a bit so hard you buy a shirt just to give your party a laugh. #daggerheart #DnD #D&D #TTRPG
I would like to bring back chatelaines as everyday fashion items, please. I think life would be better if we could carry our little treasures around with us like magpies. “Here is my antique penknife. This is my emotional support acorn. And that’s my special super shiny rock. Her name is Elizabeth.”
Currently reacting to the state of the world by writing a paper on punk zines, Riot Grrrls, and body-positive feminism for a grad class. Pretty sure this isn't what my prof was looking for, but hey, that's what you get when you don't define what you mean by "write about information access."
Parenting done right! My grandmother had a shadow box full of a lifetime of trinkets. Which made my mom start one when she moved out. Which made my sister and I both start one when we moved out. Curating a collection of joyful things is such a special thing!
Also footnotes. I love writing footnotes. And formatting footnotes. And helping other people make their footnotes pretty and nice. And finding snarky footnotes from long/dead authors. That’s the level of everlasting pettiness that I aspire to.
To whomever posted about the Merlin Bird app that happened across my feed about two weeks ago, Thanks! It’s helped my anxiety immeasurably and made my morning walks so much fun! Love, Me Today’s find: a Crested Caracara!
My TLR is one of my favorite things. If you want to go down a rabbit hole, look up Through the Viewfinder photography. You can use a digital camera to shoot through the lenses of a vintage TLR. The results look like this:
Oh my goodness that’s so gorgeous! I make do with cactus flowers, but it’s not the same.
Having an extraordinarily stressful time, which is making my body hurt & my skin feel like it's trying to crawl off my body. To distract myself, I have handwritten a thank you note to someone who went out of their way to care during a difficult situation. #NeverUnderestimateThePowerOfNiceStationery
One of my favorite sailing ship images from the Sunderland Antiquarian Society. A mother and child watch a ship navigating the Thames in 1880. #maritimehistory #coastalhistory #skystorians
I’ve decided to really start enjoying the “special” things I have stored away for safekeeping. Life is too short not to use the good dishes and the fancy soap. First order of business - new drawer pulls on my dresser which have been in storage for years. I love them.
Today, I finally did a yard task that I have been putting off for at least 6 months. It took me about 30 min under the supervision of Lyle the yard lizard. And while that feels embarrassing, I also did it. So fuck feeling bad about celebrating little wins. We need the little wins right now. Go me!
