i need to do some work rn and it’s in an old journal; but one thing i *cannot resist* is flipping thru old writing and i found this advice to myself from jan 2021 i did not take it until bb died you don’t need to wait to hit rock bottom JUST TAKE IT

when you pull it out trom where it was cowering, when you insist it be named and loved → made real → it instantly becomes possible.

you dont need permesion to be real.

was surprised to see that princeton recognized and memorialized their sole japanese student during WW2 with this arch and plaque

IKEDA ARCH
This archway is named in recognition of Kentaro Ikeda 44(1920-2011), Princeton University's sole Japanese student during World War I. During his sophomore year of college, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and the United States entered the war Following the issuance of U,S. Executive Order 9006, which led to the forced confinement of people of Japanese ancestry, Ikeda was.threatened with deportation. He worked with the federal government and the University to avoid deportation or imprisonment, but was essentially confined to campus. Despite these challenging circumstances, Ikeda showed inspiring persistence. He completed his studies carly and went on to teach Japanese to American soldiers at Yale University, where he continued to live under restrictions. After the war ended, he remained in the United States and joined his father's tea importing business. Lockhart Hall is the dormitory where Ikeda lived as a student.

i always turn to books when i am lost wanted to learn more about sufism; the conference of the birds came into view down a rabbithole only to discover a version illustrated by a fav artist/author, that i had bought said book in 2014,and had it in the poetry sec of my library the universe is funny
