After years of screwing it up I FINALLY properly punished the Englund gambit, specifically, the stupid Qe7 trap. One perfect game after a night of sub-par chess. Feels so good.
Unexpectly delivered a check that I didn't realize was mate (blitz). Very pleasant surprise, can't remember the last time that happened.
The Samisch KID can be really dangerous if your opponent doesn't know what they're supposed to be doing.
Me: Think for 3 minutes in this position, come up with Rc2, one of the top engine lines (though not quite as good as e5!) Opponent: Immediately plays e6, a move I already realized was not possible two moves ago before I played Nd5 ...I'm really working too hard against some of these opponents.
Last night on Lichess: started a 30+20 game and got hit with server issues by move 11, lost 28 of my 30 minutes, blundered, and still won by move 16. Opponent had like 10 free minutes to think on this position while the game was frozen and still missed Nxe6 (which I saw almost immediately)

Exacted revenge on my next opponent by forcing resignation (technically abandonment, lol) with 20. 0-0-0 😎
Opponent played a5 here, a pawn sack that is thematic in these Nimzo structures, and which I knew to expect. (It was the top engine line at one point in my post mortem analysis) I played bxa5 (the top response) and my opponent asked for a takeback. Begged me on chat, actually.
