I'm glad Merlin stood its ground regarding Angel Coulby as Guinevere. Some corners of the Internet complained, the creators defended her, never backed down, series end, she's Queen. Camelot *does not exist*. And even if it did, her presence isn't even out of the question. I never questioned it.

People forget that RTD did not go to the BBC to revive Doctor Who as a one man plan - the plans were already in motion and they selected him because his pitch was the best. Gatiss, Matthew Graham and Dan Freedman also pitched, so it's a similar situation now.
Never forget that the famous Sam Neill bit on Graham Norton had John bloody Bishop pretending to be the dinosaur.
There needs to be a film about Alice Guy-Blanche, a pioneer of cinema whose contributions have frequently been misogynistically erased from the history books. Would make one hell of a Doctor Who episode as well.
I find it really funny how a PM as average and plain as Gordon Brown had his Doctor Who counterpart as a corrupt politician who plans to mass murder kids. GB = BG. Both have colours as names. I think they were meant to be analogous.
They tried doing a part of this but it's all in black and white with amateur actors - no wonder the guy they picked to play the Doctor never did anything of note again. Underwater Menace should be in colour goddammit! I want a million pounds put in to make the fish people authentic, not jokes.

Holy *shit*, Tanith Lee's first Blake's 7, Sarcophagus, kicks arse. Shamefully I am quite unaware of her wider work, this might be the incentive. What a shame she never wrote for Doctor Who.
David Tennant's Criterion picks are so in-character for the Doctor, particularly the Tenth, you do wonder if the character ever left him.

You know I've always wanted John Carpenter to make another movie but I'm watching his final movie The Ward and maybe no, he doesn't, maybe he did just lose it.
I also expect RTD avoided destroying buildings with people in for Aliens of London, choosing Big Ben as an obvious symbol where you know what he's doing but also not too crass. And the entire premise wouldn't have happened had the revival been a year later due to 7/7.
In the Doctor Who universe, the One World Trade Centre exists in New York, as seen here in Mysterio and also Angels Take Manhattan, thus subconsciously implying 9/11 happened.
